Job summary

Jay FineChem Private Limited is seeking a shift-based Production Operator to oversee and optimize daily manufacturing. The role focuses on monitoring the full production process, operating DCS systems (YOKOGAWA/EMERSON), and coordinating with maintenance, quality, and logistics to keep line performance high.

Responsibilities

• Shift Monitoring: Oversee and manage the entire production process during the assigned shift.
• DCS Operation: Operate and monitor DCS (YOKOGAWA, EMERSON, or equivalent) to ensure optimal production.
• Process Control & Optimization: Ensure adherence to process parameters, production targets, and quality standards during production; review data to optimize yields.
• Compliance & Safety: Maintain safety, health, and environmental regulations; conduct safety checks and audits.
• Coordination with Maintenance: Liaise with maintenance for planned or corrective maintenance and resolve issues impacting production.
• Production Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to production, downtime, and shift performance.
• Team Leadership: Lead and train shift operators and technicians; assign tasks and monitor performance.
• Inventory & Resource Management: Coordinate with warehouse and procurement to ensure materials availability and report shortages.
• Changeovers & Cleaning: Oversee changeovers and cleaning per SOPs; ensure documentation is followed.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in Lean/Six Sigma programs to enhance production processes and reduce costs.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Shift Monitoring:
   • Oversee and manage the entire production process during the assigned shift.
   • Ensure smooth plant operations and coordinate with different teams (maintenance, quality, and logistics).
2. DCS Operation:
   • Operate and monitor Distributed Control Systems (DCS), specifically YOKOGAWA, EMERSON, or equivalent, to ensure optimal production processes.
   • Conduct regular system checks and handle alarms and deviations in the DCS.
   • Collaborate with automation engineers to troubleshoot and optimize DCS configurations for better process efficiency.
3. Process Control & Optimization:
   • Ensure adherence to process parameters, production targets, and quality standards during production.
   • Continuously review process data to optimize yields, reduce wastage, and maintain safety standards.
   • Implement operational improvements in line with the plant’s objectives.
4. Compliance & Safety:
   • Maintain strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations during production activities.
   • Conduct safety checks and ensure all production processes meet regulatory compliance standards.
   • Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.
5. Coordination with Maintenance:
   • Liaise with the maintenance team for planned or corrective maintenance of plant equipment and DCS systems.
   • Ensure that any issues impacting production are addressed and resolved promptly.
6. Production Reporting:
   • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to production, equipment downtime, and shift performance.
   • Analyze production data to track efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
7. Team Leadership:
   • Lead, train, and manage production shift operators and technicians.
   • Assign tasks and monitor the team’s performance to ensure production targets are met.
8. Inventory & Resource Management:
   • Coordinate with the warehouse and procurement teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and consumables.
   • Keep track of inventory levels and report any shortages that could impact production.
9. Changeovers & Cleaning:
   • Oversee equipment changeovers, cleaning, and preparation for new batches in compliance with SOPs.
   • Ensure all procedures are documented and followed meticulously.
10. Continuous Improvement:
    • Actively participate in continuous improvement programs, like Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, to enhance production processes and reduce costs.
