Job summary

Green Living In is seeking a PPC Executive to plan, schedule and monitor production activities for furniture manufacturing. You will coordinate across design, purchase, stores, production, quality and dispatch to ensure on-time delivery and optimal resource use.

You will prepare daily to monthly production plans, review drawings and BOMs, track plan vs. actual, identify bottlenecks and drive improvements in material planning and shop-floor efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial/Production engineering or related field.
• 25 years of PPC/Production Planning experience.
• Experience in modular furniture/manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan production schedules daily, weekly and monthly based on confirmed orders.
• Review drawings, BOMs and production requirements before scheduling.
• Coordinate across Design, Purchase, Stores, Production, Quality and Dispatch.
• Monitor plan vs. actual, identify bottlenecks and suggest corrective actions.
• Prepare and coordinate cut-lists and ensure available production information before shop floor release.
• Balance workloads and optimize machine and manpower capacity.
• Prepare and maintain PPC/MIS reports and provide updates to management.

Job description

The PPC Executive will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring production activities to ensure that customer orders are completed on time, as per required quality standards and with optimum utilization of manpower, machines and materials.

Production Planning

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on confirmed orders and delivery requirements.
• Review production drawings and order requirements before scheduling production.
• Plan production activities across CNC cutting, edge banding, drilling, assembly and finishing.
• Prioritize production orders based on delivery commitments, material availability and production capacity.
• Monitor planned production against actual output and identify deviations.

Material Planning

• Prepare and review Material Requirement Sheets (MRS) based on production requirements.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Stores to ensure timely availability of required materials.
• Identify material shortages in advance and highlight potential production delays.
• Track material availability against planned production schedules.
• Coordinate with relevant teams for material substitutions or urgent requirements when required.

Production Monitoring & Control

• Track Plan vs. Actual production on a daily basis.
• Monitor order-wise production status and pending quantities.
• Identify bottlenecks, delays and capacity constraints affecting production.
• Escalate production deviations and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of production schedules, pending orders and completion status.

Drawing & Cut-List Coordination

• Review production drawings received from the Design team for completeness and production feasibility.
• Coordinate with Designers to clarify technical issues before releasing jobs for production.
• Prepare or coordinate cut-lists based on approved production drawings.
• Ensure required production information is available before releasing orders to the shop floor.

Capacity & Resource Planning

• Plan production based on available machine capacity, manpower and material availability.
• Coordinate manpower and machine requirements with the Production team.
• Identify capacity constraints and recommend changes to the production sequence.
• Support efficient utilisation of CNC and other production machinery.
• Assist in balancing workloads across production processes.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate closely with:

• Conduct regular follow-ups on order status and production dependencies.
• Ensure timely communication of changes in production priorities and delivery requirements.
• Support smooth handover of production requirements from planning to the shop floor.

MIS & Reporting

• Prepare daily and weekly PPC/MIS reports.
• Track:
  • Production Plan vs. Actual
  • Order completion status
  • Material shortages
  • Production delays
  • Machine utilisation
  • Pending production
  • Delivery commitments
• Provide regular updates to the Production Manager and management.
• Maintain accurate production planning data in Excel/ERP systems.

Process Improvement

• Identify recurring production delays and planning gaps.
• Suggest improvements in production sequencing, material planning and workflow.
• Support initiatives to improve productivity, production efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Maintain proper documentation and follow established production SOPs.

Requirements

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of Production Planning & Control (PPC).
• Good knowledge of BOM, MRS, cut-lists and material planning.
• Understanding of modular furniture/panel-based manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of CNC cutting, edge banding, drilling and assembly processes.
• Ability to read and understand production drawings.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Excel for planning and MIS reporting.
• Experience with ERP/PPC systems is preferred.
• Exposure to IMOS, Cabinet Vision, CutRite or similar manufacturing software will be an advantage.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelors degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• 25 years of relevant experience in PPC/Production Planning, preferably in modular furniture, cabinetry, interior manufacturing or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Candidates with prior shop-floor production experience along with PPC experience will be preferred.
