Summary of the role
The Executive – Payroll & Compliance is responsible for end‑to‑end payroll processing across a large employee base and ensuring statutory compliance as per Indian labour laws, internal policies, and audit standards. The role includes payroll operations, compliance monitoring, vendor coordination, audits, and reporting, supporting strong internal controls and audit readiness.
Role and Its Responsibilities
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data validation, and reconciliation.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with labour laws, statutory requirements, internal policies, and audit standards.
- Review high‑risk payroll transactions such as F&F settlements, arrears, retro payments, incentives, deductions, recoveries, and manual adjustments.
- Monitor compliance related to PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, bonus, gratuity, leave encashment, and other statutory obligations.
- Ensure employee payments, deductions, recoveries, reimbursements, and adjustments are processed per approved policies and controls.
- Maintain maker‑checker controls and support strengthening of payroll governance frameworks.
- Identify payroll risks, control gaps, and process deviations; highlight issues to the manager with recommended corrective actions.
- Manage and monitor employee insurance coverage including Group Health Insurance, GPA, and Term Life policies.
- Ensure accurate employee data submission to insurance vendors (new joiners, exits, dependents, sum insured changes).
- Validate insurance deductions and employer contributions in payroll and track policy renewals, endorsements, and compliance with insurer requirements.
- Maintain and manage employee, consultant, and vendor contracts related to payroll and HR operations.
- Review vendor deliverables, SLAs, and compliance reports to ensure adherence to agreed standards and track closure of audit findings for third‑party vendors.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum Education: Graduate
- Minimum Experience: 2 years in payroll or related compliance functions
Working Considerations
- Shift: 6:30 AM IST – 2:30 AM IST
- Working Days: 5 days a week
- Location: Flexibility to work from home and office based on business requirements within Admiral’s serviceable area.
- Work from Home: Requires a quiet, separate room, stable Wi‑Fi (minimum 75 Mbps) and uninterrupted power supply.
- Work from Office: Safety precautions and compliance with government rules and regulations are ensured.
