Job summary

Asian Paints seeks an ETP Operations Specialist to monitor and oversee the effluent treatment processes at our plant. You will supervise staff, enforce 5S practices, and coordinate with Plant Engineering to resolve equipment issues.

Responsibilities include daily water quality checks (pH, TSS, TDS, COD), maintaining logs and performance boards, and ensuring safe, compliant operation of incinerator and related facilities.

Responsibilities

• Mark attendance of ETP operators and staff and report to the Production Officer.
• Record total Industrial and Domestic Water treated daily.
• Monitor pumps and motors in ETP and alert Plant Engineering on issues.
• Review yesterday’s water pumped to ETP and instruct accordingly.
• Ensure 5S and good housekeeping in ETP and scrap yard.
• Check status of each ETP unit and rectify problems.
• Inspect incinerator daily and inform Plant Engineering of breakdowns.
• Instruct incinerator operators on batch processing.
• Provide PPE to contract workers in ETP / Hazardous Scrap yard.
• Analyze water quality (pH, TSS, TDS, COD) of influent/effluent.
• Send daily ETP performance reports to managers.
• Update daily ETP performance display board.
• Ensure container crusher operation daily.
• Update scrap register and ETP/incinerator logs daily.
• Issue manifest for scrap material lifted daily.
• Check collection pits and pump water to ETP to prevent overflows.
• Update treated water QR/EMS reports and related registers.
• Pumping treated water to overhead tanks for gardening/uses.
• Update treated water register with production figures and water totals.
• Update chemical consumption register.
• Ensure smooth running of Centrifuge.
• Move sludge barrels to incinerator without spillage.
• Monitor and maintain Hazardous Scrap yard.
• Monitor and maintain waste barrel yard and barrel cleaning.
• Monitor and maintain DI/Soft Water Plants

• a Marking the attendance of ETP operators and staff and giving it to the production Officer-Level I
• b Giving the total Industrial and Domestic Water treated on a daily basis
• c Checking the status of all pumps and motors etc in ETP and informing Plant engineering in case of any problems or breakdowns of these machines
• d Checking the Industrial and domestic water pumped to ETP on the previous day and instructing the operator accordingly for pumping the same to ETP in case it has not been done
• e Ensuring the implementation of good housekeeping practices in ETP and scrap yard and implementing 5S practices
• f Checking the status of each unit in ETP and taking appropriate action to rectify any problem
• g Checking the incinerator on a daily basis and informing plant engineering in case of any breakdowns or problems
• h Instructing the incinerator operators about the batches to be taken through the incinerator
• i Ensuring that the required equipment is available to all ETP and incinerator operators and issuing proper PPE to contract workmen employed in ETP / Hazardous Scrap yard, barrel cleaning area
• j Analyzing the water quality of the influent and effluent for parameters like PH, TSS, TDS, and COD etc
• k Sending the ETP performance reports to all concerned Managers in the plant on a daily basis
• l Updation of daily ETP performance display board
• m Ensuring that the container crusher operation is undertaken on a daily basis
• n Ensuring the regular daily updation of the scrap register, and ETP and incinerator log sheets
• o Issuing manifest to the scrap material lifted everyday
• p Checking all the collection pits in the plant and ensuring the pumping of water to ETP so that there are no overflows
• q Updation of the daily report of treated water - QR PRD and QR EMS all QRs & ERs updation regularly
• r Ensuring the pumping of treated water to overhead tanks for using for gardening and other purposes
• s Updating the "treated water register" with production figures and industrial and domestic water figures
• t Updating the chemical consumption register
• u Ensuring the smooth running of the Centrifuge without fail
• v Ensuring the movement of the sludge barrels regularly to the incinerator without spillage
• w Monitoring & maintain Hazardous Scrap yard
• x Monitoring & maintaining waste barrel yard & barrel cleaning operation
• y Monitoring & maintain DI Water / Soft Water Plants
