Job description

The ETP Operator will be responsible for operating and monitoring the Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure proper treatment of wastewater as per environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. This involves checking plant parameters, handling chemicals, maintaining equipment, recording readings, and supporting pollution control activities. The candidate should have practical knowledge of ETP operations, safety practices, and environmental compliance within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing facility.

• Operate the Effluent Treatment Plant as per approved procedures and environmental guidelines.
• Monitor wastewater treatment parameters such as pH, flow, COD, BOD, TDS, sludge level, and chemical dosing.
• Record daily readings, plant observations, chemical consumption, and operational data accurately.
• Handle ETP chemicals safely and ensure correct dosing as per treatment requirements.
• Inspect pumps, blowers, tanks, pipelines, valves, filters, and other ETP equipment regularly.
• Report abnormal readings, equipment breakdowns, leakage, overflow, or treatment issues to supervisors.
• Support sludge handling, drying, storage, and disposal activities as per company procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in ETP and utility areas.
• Follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and environmental protection practices during operations.
• Assist in preventive maintenance and minor troubleshooting of ETP equipment.
• Coordinate with engineering, EHS, production, and maintenance teams for smooth plant operation.
• Support sample collection and coordination for internal or external environmental testing.
• Maintain compliance documents, logbooks, checklists, and ETP operation records.
• Help ensure treated water quality meets statutory and pollution control board requirements.
• Support water conservation, waste reduction, and environmental compliance initiatives.
