Job summary

Vinmar International in Maharashtra, India seeks an Export Documentation Specialist to review L/Cs and drafts, ensure compliance, and coordinate with global partners for timely shipments.

The role requires strong knowledge of LC scrutiny, UCP 600/ISBP, and exposure to banking and shipping processes, with SAP experience considered a plus. Graduate qualifications with 5+ years in export-import documentation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Exposure to international trade; knowledge of shipping terms and documentation is essential.
• Export Letters of Credit and document preparation & checking procedures for multiple countries.
• Knowledge of international ocean cargo process.
• Expert knowledge of LC Scrutiny, BL/Third Party Documents checking.
• Knowledge of UCP 600 and ISBP.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Exposure to banking operations and requirements as needed.
• Knowledge of different types of sales and requisite documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming letters of credit and drafts for compliance and risk to mitigate potential losses.
• Coordinate with overseas offices and banking team to ensure policy compliance and timely action on red flags.
• Understand pre and post shipment documentation processes.
• Scrutinize LC, BL and third party certificates.
• Prepare and check final documents.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and inspection agencies worldwide.
• Update status in SAP/GTS/MIS.

Responsibilities

May include but are not limited to

• Reviewing all incoming letters of credit, including L/C drafts, for compliance and financial assessment to mitigate potential risks, especially related to confirmation, reimbursements and financial ratings.
• Co-ordination with overseas offices and banking team to ensure that risk mitigation policies are complied with and corrective actions are taken on an immediate basis or red-flags raised in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of Pre and Post shipment documentation
• Experience in scrutinizing of LC, BL and third party certificates.
• Preparation and checking of Final Documents.
• Coordinating with Freight Forwarders, Shipping line, Inspection agencies etc. located worldwide.
• Updating status in SAP/GTS/MIS

Requirements

Required experience, skills and knowledge:

• Exposure to international trade, knowledge of shipping terms and documentation is essential
• Must have worked in an Export Company and well versed in Export Letters of Credit and document preparation & checking procedures for multiple countries.
• Must have knowledge of international ocean cargo process
• Expert and practical knowledge of LC Scrutiny, BL /Third Party Documents checking
• Must have knowledge of UCP 600 and ISBP
• Good Written and Verbal communication skills
• Exposure to banking operations and requirements, as required
• Knowledge and inputs on different types of sales and requisite documentation, presentation requirements
• Sound knowledge of MS word, Excel, Internet, PDF etc.
• Candidates with working knowledge of SAP will be given preference.

Required Education and other Qualifications:

• Graduate in any discipline
• Additional qualification in Import Export. 5+ years' Experience in Export- Import Documentation in any Trading company/ Export House.
