Job summary

Estimation Engineer position for a fire fighting manufacturing company located near Sriperambadur, Chennai. The role requires 4 to 6+ years of hands-on experience in design and estimation of gas, water or foam-based suppression systems and a diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering.

You will interact with clients and sales teams, analyze drawings and specs, and prepare BOMs and techno-commercial offers, ensuring NFPA/IS code compliance. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5-6 years hands-on experience in design and estimation of gas, water, or foam-based suppression systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 2001, NFPA 750, NFPA 13, NFPA 11, NFPA 30 fire codes.
• Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Engage with client and sales team to understand job requirements.
• Analyse architectural drawings, BOQ and specifications to prepare system BOM.
• Design suppression systems per client specs and NFPA/IS codes and standards.
• Prepare techno-commercial offers, design write-ups and schematic drawings for gas suppression systems (FK‑5‑1‑12, IG‑541, CO2, water mist).
• Conduct site surveys and client meetings.
• Identify and implement cost optimisations.
