IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Engineering Manager for Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jalandhar (Pre-Opening) to lead a small engineering team and oversee daily maintenance of a premium hotel. The role supports safety, quality, and guest comfort from pre-opening through launch.

You will manage parts, coordinate specialised trades, and ensure compliance with regulations while upholding IHG standards and the company’s sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Four years’ experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.
• Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber and/or journeyman status for electrician and carpenter may be required.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Professional certification and licence if required by law.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is on the right task.
• Create a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests.
• Maintain and order parts and supplies while minimising waste and supporting green initiatives.
• Be flexible to react to ad-hoc duties to complete tasks.
• Build strong relationships with guests, regulatory agencies and other contacts.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jalandhar (Pre-Opening) is a contemporary hotel offering 126 well-appointed rooms, strategically located along the Grand Trunk Road (NH-1), the six-lane Delhi–Ludhiana–Jalandhar–Amritsar highway. The hotel benefits from excellent visibility and frontage on this key arterial route, with convenient access via the Jalandhar–Amritsar–Delhi corridor, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travellers. Guests can enjoy all-day dining at Express Café, featuring 70 covers, along with a range of wellness facilities including a swimming pool, fitness centre, and spa & salon. The hotel also offers flexible meeting and event space across multiple venues, making it well-suited for corporate meetings, training sessions, conferences, and social gatherings.

Our new Engineering Manager will lead and coach a small but talented engineering team to stay one step ahead of our everyday maintenance needs.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Directing daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task
• Creating a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy
• Maintaining and ordering parts and supplies whilst minimising waste and meeting our green initiatives
• Being flexible to react to ad-hoc duties where we have to unexpectedly pull together to get a task completed
• Building strong relationships with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed

What We need from you:

• Some college or advanced vocational training
