Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group seeks an experienced Engineering Manager for Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jalandhar (Pre-Opening). You will lead a small engineering team to oversee maintenance, safety, and comfort for guests, manage parts and vendors, and ensure timely completion of projects.

This role requires strong technical skills and hotel-industry experience, with a focus on reliability and service quality.

Qualifications

• College or advanced vocational training completed.
• Four years' experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent.
• Specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.
• EPA Level 3 Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber and/or journeyman status for electrician and carpenter may be required.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Professional certification and licence if required by law.

• Directing daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task.
• Creating a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy.
• Maintaining and ordering parts and supplies whilst minimising waste and meeting our green initiatives.
• Being flexible to react to ad-hoc duties where we have to unexpectedly pull together to get a task completed.
• Building strong relationships with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed.

Job description

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jalandhar (Pre-Opening) is a contemporary hotel offering 126 well-appointed rooms, strategically located along the Grand Trunk Road (NH-1), the six-lane Delhi-Ludhiana-Jalandhar-Amritsar highway. The hotel benefits from excellent visibility and frontage on this key arterial route, with convenient access via the Jalandhar-Amritsar-Delhi corridor, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travellers. Guests can enjoy all-day dining at Express Café, featuring 70 covers, along with a range of wellness facilities including a swimming pool, fitness centre, and spa & salon. The hotel also offers flexible meeting and event space across multiple venues, making it well-suited for corporate meetings, training sessions, conferences, and social gatherings.

Our new Engineering Manager will lead and coach a small but talented engineering team to stay one step ahead of our everyday maintenance needs.

Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:

What We need from you:

• Some college or advanced vocational training
• Four years' experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields
• Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber and/or journeyman status for electrician and carpenter may be required
• Hotel experience preferred
• Professional certification and licence if required by law
