Job summary

Ascentis Group is seeking a Manager Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Low Voltage works) for on-site leadership of MEP activities in Hyderabad. You will provide scheduling inputs, monitor micro-schedules, review drawings, supervise contractors, and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

With a Diploma or BE in Electrical or Mechanical and at least 10 years in building construction, you will coordinate interfaces among trades, support commercial teams, and drive commissioning,

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Electrical or Mechanical is required.
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of electrical, HVAC, Firefighting, and plumbing works.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in building construction with managerial MEP exposure.
• Ability to read/review drawings and communicate with designers.
• Knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations in India.
• Strong written English; proficient with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduling inputs for the Master program and monitor micro-schedule alignment.
• Check and comment construction drawings and shop drawings by contractors; supervise site progress.
• Lead High Side MEP works installation, testing and commissioning; run weekly contractor meetings.
• Review BOQ, provide inputs on milestones, sequencing, and variations; support vendor pre-qualification.
• Manage change requests, realign baselines, and ensure timely notices for defaults.
• Implement QC and HSE procedures; ensure proper documentation and penalties for deviations.

Job description

Title - Manager Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Low Voltage works)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide scheduling inputs for the Master program
• Monitor preparation of micro-schedule for each trade in line with the Master schedule

Design Coordination

• Check and comment construction drawings prepared by designers and shop drawings prepared by contractors
• Supervise contractors work progress on site and monitor adequacy of resources and equipment
• Supervise contractors work quality and compliance with design documents & codes
• Manage interfaces on site between MEP contractors and other trade contractors
• Report on weekly basis to PM (quality, progress)

Site Management

• Lead High Side MEP Works Installation, Testing and Commissioning
• Lead weekly review meetings with contractors
• Drive construction processes and control coordination between trades
• Monitor and control sequencing of works and HO-TO process on site
• Monitor timely delivery of Contractor/vendor supplied material on site

Contract and Commercial Management

• Review the BOQ and provide inputs on milestone schedule, methodology, quality, sequencing of activities and quantity variations (between drawings and actuals) due to site conditions
• Support the Commercial team in Pre-qualification of vendors
• Participate in the tendering process and support the Commercial team in management of bidders’ queries, site visits and issues related to site logistics, administration and enabling works
• Ensure timely issuance of contractual Notices for defaults on quality/ HSE and delays
• Ensure proper handover with test certificates, manuals and training programs given to client / operator at the time of commissioning of system during project completion

Change Management

• Manage change management process for any changes requested after award of works on site
• Review and support on providing accurate impact on time, cost and quality captured in the change requests
• Monitor realignment of project baselines after acceptance of change requests

QC & HSE

• Implement Quality Control procedures on site
• Implement HSE procedures on site
• Ensure following of ITPs and adequate documentation of the inspection/test reports
• Ensure timely issuance of relevant Notices to the Contractors for any defaults
• Ensure application of correct penalties for disapproved deviations/defaults
• Monitor rectification of defaults by the contractors

Required Education & Skills

• Diploma or BE (Electrical or Mechanical)
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of electrical, HVAC, Firefighting, and plumbing works
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the building construction industry in a similar managerial MEP position with at least two projects taken till completion
• Good ability to read & review drawings, and communicate with designers
• Knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations in India
• Good command of English and ability to write minutes of meeting
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, and good reporting skills with management
