Job summary

Johnson Electric Group is seeking an experienced Stamping Engineer in Chennai to manage daily stamping operations, optimize die loading/unloading, troubleshoot tooling, and ensure production targets plus quality and safety goals are met.

The role requires 5 to 8 years in metal stamping, with strong GD&T knowledge and hands-on experience in tooling and presses. Collaboration with maintenance, tool room and quality teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in metal stamping processes, including progressive/transfer/tandem dies.
• Capable of die setup, loading/unloading and tool changes.
• Familiar with GD&T and high-precision stamping requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily stamping production to meet plans and delivery targets.
• Set up, load/unload and change stamping dies/tools per schedule.
• Troubleshoot process, tooling, and press issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure die installation/alignment and machine parameters for efficiency.
• Monitor quality, implement corrective actions and reduce defects.
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and production teams for smooth operation.
• Analyze data and drive process improvements to raise productivity and reduce scrap.
• Ensure safety, SOP compliance and adherence to standards.
• Train operators on machine operation, die handling and safety.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Stamping Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience in metal stamping operations and production. The candidate will be responsible for managing daily production activities, ensuring smooth operation of stamping presses, troubleshooting process and tooling issues, and coordinating tool loading and unloading activities to achieve production, quality, and safety targets

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor daily stamping production activities to achieve production plans and delivery targets.
• Set up, load, unload, and change stamping dies/tools according to the production schedule.
• Troubleshoot stamping process issues, press breakdowns, and tooling-related problems to minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper die installation, alignment, and machine parameter sengs for efficient production.
• Monitor product quality and implement corrective actions to reduce stamping defects.
• Coordinate with maintenance, tool room, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Analyze production data and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce scrap.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
• Train and guide operators on machine operation, die handling, and safety requirements.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
• Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and high-precision stamping processes.
• Train and guide subordinates to improve their technical skills, productivity, and safety awareness.
