Job summary

Avalon Technologies in Chennai seeks an experienced sourcing professional to manage RFQ processes, quotations, and supplier inputs from end to end. You will coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective BOM costings and quotes.

The ideal candidate has 6–11 years in mechanical fabrication with quotation/sourcing experience, strong knowledge of sheet metal, machining, and special processes, and excellent communication and relationship-building skills for supplier

Qualifications

• 6–11 years in mechanical fabrication with quotation/sourcing experience.
• Understanding of sheet metal fabrication, block machining, casting, forging, screw machining.
• Knowledge of special processes (heat treatment, plating, anodizing, alodine, plating, powder coating).
• Industry knowledge.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end interface with customer/sales and internal stakeholders till quotes completion.
• Feasibility input with suppliers and feasibility reports.
• Obtain quotes based on BOM and float requirements to suppliers or internal team.
• Analyze quotes against specifications and finalize costed BOM/costing sheet.
• Ensure timely submission of quotes for suppliers to potential customers.

Role & responsibilities

• Maintaining the Sourcing part Register.
• Sound knowledge on studying the basic 2d drawing & 3d Drawings with the speciations.
• Giving input on the feasibility in consultation with suppliers (with the feasibility report)
• Getting quote based on the Bill of material.
• Float the requirement to suppliers or Internal team to get the quote.
• Working or following up with the suppliers to compile the quotation.
• Analysing the quote from supplier/customer referred to given specifications.
• Completing the quotation and review with the Manager or Sr. Manager to finalize the costed BOM/ Cost working sheet.
• Ensure timely submission of quotes getting for suppliers to potential customers as per required timelines.
• End to end interface with customer/ Sale resp. and internal stakeholders till the successful completion of RFQ bids.

Preferred candidate profile

• 6 - 11 years in Mechanical fabrication - Quotation/ Sourcing experience
• Sound understanding of Sheet Metal Fabrication and block machining, Casting, Forging, Screw Machining, etc..
• Good understanding of special processes (Heat Treatment, Plating, Anodize, Alodine, Plating, powder coating etc.)
• Industry knowledge
