Job summary

Zeal Engineers is seeking a qualified Estimation & Costing professional to support RFQ analysis, weight estimation, and BOM/production planning for industrial fabrication projects. You will interface with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate cost sheets and timely offers.

The role requires 3–5 years in industrial fabrication, solid skills in ERP, Excel, and AutoCAD, and the ability to read fabrication drawings for accurate allowances.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years in Estimation & Costing within Industrial Fabrication, Storage Tanks, Silos, or Process Equipment manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with ERP, MS Excel, and AutoCAD.
• Strong ability to read fabrication drawings and estimate cutting/welding allowances.

Responsibilities

• Review customer RFQs, drawings, and specifications for fabrication projects.
• Perform material weight estimation using client drawings and Excel models.
• Prepare complete cost sheets and submit technical-commercial offers to clients.
• Create and manage Sales Order, BOM, and Production Order in ERP after order confirmation.
• Generate and monitor production schedules, work orders, and manufacturing sequences.
• Coordinate with vendors for bought-out items and subcontracted jobs.
• Liaise with customers, Quality, Production, and Stores to ensure material quality clearance.

Role & responsibilities

• RFQ & Drawing Study: Review customer RFQs, engineering drawings, and specifications for Industrial Fabrication, Silos, Tanks, and Structural jobs.
• Weight & Cost Estimation: Perform accurate material weight estimation (MS, SS, Aluminium plates, pipes, structures, flanges) using client drawings and Excel models.
• Costing & Quotation: Prepare complete cost sheets (Raw material, bought-out items, machining, surface treatment, subcontracting) and submit technical-commercial offers to clients.
• ERP Data Entry (Post-Order): Upon Sales Order confirmation:
  
  • Create the Sales Order in ERP.
  • Prepare the preliminary Bill of Materials (BOM) based on estimated weight/BOM and plan raw material procurement
  • Generate the initial Work Order / Production Order in ERP.
  • Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules, including work orders and manufacturing sequences.
• Vendor Inquiry: Float inquiries to vendors for bought-out items and subcontracted jobs (rolling, dish ends, specialized machining).
• Coordination & Quality: Liaise with customers, Quality, Production, and Stores to ensure all materials have clear quality clearance before use.
• Project Monitoring: Track actual process timing and costs against estimates; collect and report order status to management and customers.
• Supplier & Issue Resolution: Negotiate with suppliers and resolve technical issues related to material rejection or rework with the concerned agencies.
• Project Closure: Generate packing lists and finalize project dossiers for complete delivery and closure.

Preferred candidate profile

• Qualification: Diploma or BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years in Estimation & Costing within Industrial Fabrication, Storage Tanks, Silos, or Process Equipment manufacturing setup.
• Software Skills: Hands-on experience with any ERP system, MS Excel, and AutoCAD.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read fabrication drawings, understand material standards, and estimate cutting/welding allowances.
