Job summary

Waaree Renewable Technologies in Navsari, Gujarat is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance and repair of critical solar cell manufacturing equipment, including wet benches, diffusion furnaces, PECVD, ALD, laser edge isolation, and screen-printing lines.

The role requires 5–8 years in PV manufacturing with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity, plus hands-on PLC/SCADA troubleshooting and strict adherence to EHS and cleanroom protocols.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5–8 years in PV/semiconductor maintenance experience.
• 2+ years in senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of vacuum, RF, gas delivery, and fluids.
• Hands-on PLC/SCADA troubleshooting and robotics experience.
• Adherence to cleanroom, LOTO and EHS protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and repair of solar cell manufacturing equipment.
• Design and monitor PM schedules to maximize OEE.
• Lead root-cause analyses using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone methods.
• Mentor and train shift maintenance technicians.
• Collaborate with process/production to optimize parameters.

Job Title: Senior Maintenance Engineer/Senior Enginee Solar Cells

Location: Navsari, Gujarat

Department: Engineering & Maintenance

Core Responsibilities:

• Equipment Uptime & Reliability: Lead the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical solar cell manufacturing equipment, including Wet Benches (Texturing/Cleaning), Diffusion Furnaces, PECVD systems, ALD, Laser Edge Isolation, and Screen-Printing lines.
• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Design, implement, and monitor robust Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure maximum Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Root Cause Analysis: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex electromechanical, pneumatic, and vacuum system failures. Apply 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone methodologies to eliminate chronic breakdowns.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and deploy a team of shift maintenance technicians. Conduct on-the-job training for junior staff regarding advanced troubleshooting and safe machine handling.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with Process and Production engineering teams to optimize machine parameters, upgrade legacy systems, and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives aimed at reducing Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
• Spare Parts & Inventory: Forecast and manage critical spare parts inventory. Liaise with OEM vendors for specialized repairs, warranty claims, and part procurement to prevent production halts.
• Safety & Cleanroom Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to Class 100/1000 cleanroom protocols. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards, particularly Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and the safe handling of toxic/flammable gases (e.g., Silane, Ammonia) and hazardous chemicals (HF, HNO3).

Education & Qualifications:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

• 5 to 8 years of core maintenance experience in Solar Cell (Photovoltaic) manufacturing or Semiconductor fabrication.
• Minimum of 2+ years serving in a senior, lead, or supervisory capacity.

Technical Skills:

• Core Systems: Deep understanding of vacuum technologies, RF generators, gas delivery systems, exhaust management, and fluid dynamics.
• Automation & Controls: Strong hands‑on proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.), SCADA systems, HMIs, and robotic handling systems.
• Analytical Tools: Proficiency in maintaining equipment logs, MTBF/MTTR tracking, and generating data‑driven performance reports.
