Job summary

Adani Solar is seeking a Shift Engineer for PECVD maintenance to oversee deposition processes and keep equipment performing at peak efficiency in our Mundra facility. The role focuses on operation, troubleshooting, and process improvements within solar manufacturing.

The ideal candidate brings 2–5 years of PECVD hands‑on experience, a BE/BTech degree, and a proactive approach to safety, CAPA, and quality control in a high‑volume production environment.

Qualifications

• Min 2 - 5 years of hands‑on experience in PECVD operations within the solar manufacturing industry.
• BE/BTech in an engineering discipline is desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills are essential.
• Knowledge of deposition processes and thin film principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain PECVD systems to ensure optimal performance and reliable deposition.
• Address and resolve PECVD equipment breakdowns swiftly, analyze issues to prevent future failures.
• Optimize PECVD parameters (gas flow rates, temperature, pressure) to achieve uniform and high‑quality thin films.
• Implement CAPA plans for major breakdowns, ensuring timely resolution and preventive measures.
• Conduct inspections to verify thin film thickness, uniformity, and adherence to quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements during PECVD operations.
• Maintain accurate records of process parameters, equipment maintenance, and daily check sheets.
• Lead and train technicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Job Purpose: The Job purpose for the role of Shift Engineer - PECVD in cell maintenance is overseeing the operation and maintenance of PECVD equipment during shifts, ensuring production efficiency, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining high standards of equipment performance and Equipment Availability.

Key Responsibilities

PECVD Machine Management and Operation

• Operate and maintain PECVD systems to ensure optimal performance and reliable deposition processes.

Breakdown Response and Troubleshooting

• Address and resolve PECVD equipment breakdowns swiftly, analyze issues to prevent future failures.

Process Optimization

• Optimize PECVD parameters (gas flow rates, temperature, pressure) to achieve uniform and high-quality thin films, improving solar cell efficiency.

Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)

• Implement CAPA plans for major breakdowns, ensuring timely resolution and preventive measures to enhance equipment reliability.

Quality Control

• Conduct inspections to verify thin film thickness, uniformity, and adherence, maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements during PECVD operations to maintain a safe work environment.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of process parameters, equipment maintenance, and production outputs and daily check sheet.

Team Leadership and Training

• Lead and support a team of technicians or operators, providing guidance, training, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the diffusion area.
