Job summary

Adani Solar in India is seeking a Shift Engineer - PECVD to oversee the operation and maintenance of PECVD equipment during shifts, ensuring production efficiency and high equipment availability.

The role requires 2–5 years hands-on PECVD experience in solar manufacturing, with a BE/BTech qualification and a focus on process optimization and safety. The position is on-site at Mundra, Gujarat, within the Adani Solar division.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train a team of technicians; ensure safety and compliance.
  • Maintain process documentation and daily check sheets.
  • Coordinate with maintenance contractors and internal stakeholders.

Job Purpose: The Job purpose for the role of Shift Engineer - PECVD in cell maintenance is overseeing the operation and maintenance of PECVD equipment during shifts, ensuring production efficiency, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining high standards of equipment performance and Equipment Availability.

*Key Responsibilities of Role

PECVD Machine Management and Operation:

  • Operate and maintain PECVD systems to ensure optimal performance and reliable deposition processes.

Breakdown Response and Troubleshooting

  • Address and resolve PECVD equipment breakdowns swiftly, analyze issues to prevent future failures.

Process Optimization:

  • Optimize PECVD parameters (gas flow rates, temperature, pressure) to achieve uniform and high-quality thin films, improving solar cell efficiency.

Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA):

  • Implement CAPA plans for major breakdowns, ensuring timely resolution and preventive measures to enhance equipment reliability.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct inspections to verify thin film thickness, uniformity, and adherence, maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements during PECVD operations to maintain a safe work environment.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of process parameters, equipment maintenance, and production outputs and daily check sheet.

Team Leadership and Training:

  • Lead and support a team of technicians or operators, providing guidance, training, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the diffusion area.

  • Lead of Cell Maintenance
  • Head of Cell Maintenance
  • Other Shift Engineers within the same cluster

  • Maintenance Contractors
  • Regulatory Authorities
Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

  • Desired Qualification : BE/BTech

Work Experience (Range of years):

  • Min 2 - 5 years of hands‑on experience in PECVD operations within the solar manufacturing industry, focusing on process optimization and equipment maintenance.
