Job summary

Avalon Technologies is seeking an experienced Quotation Manager in Chennai to lead RFQ/RFP analysis, cost estimation, and BOM preparation. You will coordinate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to deliver competitive quotations within tight timelines.

The role requires strong 2D/3D drawing interpretation, Excel-based costing, and proficiency with SolidWorks/CATIA. You will drive quotes with precision and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to maximize

Qualifications

• Minimum 36 years of experience in quotation management, estimation, manufacturing engineering, or costing within aerospace or precision engineering industries.
• Bachelor's Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawing interpretation (2D & 3D).
• Proficiency in MS Excel for costing, analysis, and data management.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks and CATIA.

Responsibilities

• Review customer RFQs/RFPs and understand technical and commercial requirements.
• Interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings, specifications, and customer standards.
• Perform feasibility studies in coordination with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and identify raw material and standard part requirements.
• Develop cost estimates by coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare accurate and competitive quotations within customer timelines.
• Follow up with internal teams and suppliers to obtain technical inputs and costing.
• Maintain the RFQ register and track quotation status until submission.
• Analyse supplier quotations and validate pricing against technical requirements.
• Support Business Development by providing timely quotation support and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management teams throughout the quotation lifecycle.
• Maintain quotation documentation and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve quotation quality, accuracy, and turnaround time.

Preferred candidate profile

• 36 years of experience in quotation management, estimation, manufacturing engineering, or costing within aerospace or precision engineering industries.
• Bachelor's Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawing interpretation (2D & 3D).
• Proficiency in MS Excel for costing, analysis, and data management.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks and CATIA.
• Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication, machining processes, and manufacturing methods
• Familiarity with BOM preparation, process mapping, and cost estimation.
• Basic knowledge of aerospace specifications, materials, and special processes is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple RFQs and work under tight deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
