Job summary

Crescendo Global Leadership Hiring India is seeking a cost estimator/costing specialist to analyze RFQs, specs, and drawings, and to prepare accurate costing and competitive pricing. You will coordinate with engineering, production, and suppliers to determine material costs and lead times, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

You will drive should-costing, cost-variance analysis, and support negotiations and contract finalization while maintaining up-to-date cost databases

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, and related manufacturing processes, including material properties, behaviour, and applications.
• Understanding of special processes such as surface treatment, heat treatment, NDT, testing, and other value-added operations.
• Proficiency in risk analysis, taxation, duties, Incoterms, and cost-related evaluation of raw materials and processes.
• Basic understanding of project management principles, planning, coordination, and execution.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and AutoCAD; familiarity with any 3D modelling software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer RFQs, technical specifications, and drawings to understand product requirements and prepare accurate cost estimates and pricing.
• Conduct manufacturability and feasibility assessments with Engineering and Production teams, evaluating sequences, cycle times, tooling, capacity, process risks, and make-or-buy opportunities.
• Coordinate with SCM and suppliers to obtain raw material costs, vendor quotations, MOQs, lead times, and other inputs for costing and pricing decisions.
• Prepare detailed cost sheets, price breakups, tender docs, and bid submissions; support BD in clarifications, negotiations, pricing justification, and contract finalization.
• Maintain cost databases covering machine rates, cycle times, material trends, supplier pricing, and historical data; perform should-costing and cost-variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, customer standards, export regulations, traceability, and audit/documentation needs; support pricing agreements and renewals.
• Promote adherence to safety, environmental, information security, and operational standards to support sustainable growth.

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct manufacturability and feasibility assessments with Engineering and Production teams, evaluating machining sequences, cycle times, tooling requirements, capacity, process risks, and make-or-buy opportunities.
• Coordinate with SCM and suppliers to obtain raw material costs, vendor quotations, special process rates, MOQs, lead times, and other commercial inputs required for accurate costing and pricing decisions.
• Prepare detailed cost sheets, price breakdowns, tender documentation, and bid submissions; participate in technical/commercial reviews and support Business Development teams in customer clarifications, negotiations, pricing justification, and contract finalization.
• Maintain and continuously improve cost databases covering machine rates, cycle times, material trends, supplier pricing, and historical project data; perform should-costing, estimated-versus-actual cost analysis, and identify cost-reduction and design-to-cost opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, customer-specific standards, export regulations, traceability requirements, and audit/documentation needs while supporting long-term pricing agreements, cost escalation reviews, and contract renewals.
• Promote adherence to safety, environmental, information security, and operational standards, including EMS, OHSAS/ISO 45001, ISMS, energy conservation, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information to support sustainable business growth.

Requirements

• Sound understanding of special processes such as surface treatment, heat treatment, NDT, testing, and other value-added manufacturing operations.
• Proficiency in risk analysis, taxation, duties, Incoterms, commercial/quotation terms, and cost-related evaluation of raw materials and processes.
• Basic understanding of project management principles, planning, coordination, and execution.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and AutoCAD; familiarity with any 3D modelling software is preferred. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for BE candidates and 7 years for Diploma candidates.
