Job summary

Wipro Water, a unit of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, Mumbai, is seeking an experienced Procurement professional to manage mechanical bought-out items for projects. You will handle PO creation, vendor coordination, and ensure timely delivery to sites, while maintaining cost targets.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in mechanical procurement, BE or Diploma in Mechanical/Production, and hands-on SAP-MM. Experience with pumps, valves, membranes, MEE/MVR/DAF, and EPC environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical or Production is required.
• 5-8 years of procurement experience for mechanical items.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Mechanical Bought out procurement for the projects
• Achieve the defined Cost Savings
• Vendor development and ensure timely delivery of the material at stores/site
• Purchase order creation and coordination with vendors
• Follow-up for timely delivery and Purchase report & document preparation
• Should procure within cost & time constraints
• Should co-ordinate with different departments

Key Skills Required:

Areas of expertise / skills

• Procurement of mechanical bought outs like Pumps, valves, membranes MEE, MVR, DAF, HRSCC
• Vendor selection and development of suppliers for mechanical bought out items and systems like MEE, MVR.
• Rate negotiation to ensure the order is released within the predetermined budget
• Applying strategies for cost reduction the offer price within the predetermined budget
• Ensuring delivery of ordered material at site
• Ensuring timely release of payment in coordination with finance / accounts dept.
• Knowledge of reputed suppliers in Mechanical items/packages across industry
• Hands on experience in SAP – MM will be an added advantage
• Ion exchange/Thermax – Water and Waste water Industry
• Any reputed company (preferably in EPC) with experience in Mechanical bought out items
