Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior design professional with 8+ years of experience in AIS/GIS substation BIM modelling and design up to 400kV. The role requires FC T&D design knowledge, strong drafting skills, and proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, and NavisWorks.

You will collaborate with global teams, prepare SLDs, schedules, and technical memos. Expect to lead design efforts, coordinate with leads, attend client meetings, and deliver high-quality drawings within tight schedules.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in designing and BIM modelling of AIS/GIS substation projects, with knowledge of primary design (AIS & GIS substation up to 400kV desirable).
• Design and modelling of concept, FEED, and detailed design of T & D systems up to 400kV for utility companies based on international standards in Middle East, UK, Australia & US regions.
• Perform primary design/modelling/drafting activities such as key SLDs, AC/DC SLDs, cable schedules, interconnection schedules, specifications, bulk MTO, etc.
• Apply broad practical knowledge to design/modelling layouts – equipment layouts for outdoor switchyard, indoor substation, trench/tray layouts, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection layouts; able to give technicians review from technical/quality perspective.
• Resolve any design/drafting issues and coordinate effectively with leads.

• Good communication and IT skills.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and excellent working knowledge of Revit/Inventor substation modelling software, clash detection, NavisWorks, Revizto, etc.
• Automation tools such as Dynamo, RF tools, Ideate, Cobie knowledge are preferable.
• Experienced in developing, implementing, and designing automation project execution plans.
• Able to prepare PowerPoint presentations or author technical memorandums and other documents.
• Experience with Bentley ProjectWise and BIM360 is desirable.
