Job summary

Jacobs seeks an experienced BIM designer for AIS/GIS substation projects. The role requires 8+ years in design and modelling, with up to 400kV knowledge, and proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, and related tools.

You will lead modelling activities, coordinate with leads, and attend client meetings to ensure on-time, quality deliverables. Ideal candidates have strong communication and IT skills, can handle demanding workloads, and will work across international standards in multiple

Qualifications

• B.Tech is preferable.
• 8+ years of experience in designing and BIM modelling of AIS/GIS substation projects, with knowledge of primary design (AIS & GIS substation up to 400kV desirable).
• Design and modelling of concept, FEED, and detailed design of T & D systems up to 400kV for utility companies based on international standards in Middle East, UK, Australia & US regions.
• Perform primary design/modelling/drafting activities such as key SLDs, AC/DC SLDs, cable schedules, interconnection schedules, specifications, bulk MTO, etc.
• Apply broad practical knowledge to design/modelling layouts – equipment layouts for outdoor switchyard, indoor substation, trench/tray layouts, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection layouts; able to give technicians review from technical/quality perspective.
• Resolve any design/drafting issues and coordinate effectively with leads.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and communicate work with team members covering all design aspects of the project.
• Attend client meetings for technical clarifications.
• Capable of working under challenging workload subject to change at short notice.
• Good communication and IT skills.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and excellent working knowledge of Revit/Inventor substation modelling software, clash detection, NavisWorks, Revizto, etc.
• Automation tools such as Dynamo, RF tools, Ideate, Cobie knowledge are preferable.
• Experienced in developing, implementing, and designing automation project execution plans.
• Able to prepare PowerPoint presentations or author technical memorandums and other documents.
• Experience with Bentley ProjectWise and BIM360 is desirable.
