Job summary

Cyient DLM in Mysuru, India seeks an Engineer for ECN and Component Obsolescence Management to handle ECNs/ECOs, obsolescence and alternate part qualification, ensuring uninterrupted production throughout the product lifecycle.

You will work with Design Engineering, SCM, Quality, Manufacturing, and customers to mitigate obsolescence risks and coordinate cross-functional change control within PLM/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electronics/related field.
• 2–5 years of ECN/ECO management experience.
• Experience with product lifecycle and obsolescence management.
• Experience in Electronics Manufacturing / Aerospace / Industrial Products.

Responsibilities

• Review and process ECRs, ECOs, and ECNs.
• Evaluate impact on BOM, drawings, specs, and processes.
• Coordinate approvals across Engineering, QA, Operations, and SCM.
• Track ECN status and ensure revision control in PLM/ERP.
• Support NPI-to-production transitions with changes.
• Monitor lifecycle per OEM notices and PCNs.
• Identify EOL/NRND/obsolete parts and mitigation plans.
• Identify and qualify alternate parts and perform testing.
• Update BOMs and ensure documentation for releases.
• Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, QA, and customers.

Job Summary

Responsible for managing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs),Product Change Notifications (PCNs), component obsolescence activities, andalternate component qualification to ensure uninterrupted production andproduct lifecycle support. The role works closely with Design Engineering, SCM,Quality, Manufacturing, and Customers to identify risks from obsoletecomponents and implement qualified alternate solutions with minimal businessimpact.

Key Responsibilities

Component Obsolescence Management

• IdentifyEnd-of-Life (EOL), Not Recommended for New Design (NRND), and obsoletecomponents.
  
• Assessthe impact of obsolete parts on active products and customer programs.
  
• Developmitigation plans to address supply continuity risks.
  
• Maintainan obsolescence risk register and provide periodic management reports.
  

Alternate Part Identification & Qualification

• Identifysuitable alternate components considering:
