The role collaborates with Design, SCM, Quality, Manufacturing, and customers to identify risks and implement qualified alternatives with minimal business impact.

Qualifications

• ECN/ECO management experience and lifecycle control.
• Obsolescence management and alternate part qualification required.
• Experience with BOM analysis and change control.
• Experience coordinating with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Background in Electronics Manufacturing / Aerospace / Industrial products.

Responsibilities

• Review and process ECRs, ECOs, and ECNs.
• Evaluate impact on BOM, drawings, specs, and processes.
• Coordinate approvals across Engineering, Quality, Operations, and SCM.
• Track ECN implementation and ensure timely closure.
• Maintain revision control and PLM/ERP documentation.
• Support NPI-to-production transitions with controlled changes.

Job Summary

Responsible for managing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Product Change Notifications (PCNs), component obsolescence activities, and alternate component qualification to ensure uninterrupted production and product lifecycle support. The role works closely with Design Engineering, SCM, Quality, Manufacturing, and Customers to identify risks from obsolete components and implement qualified alternate solutions with minimal business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewand process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), ECOs, and ECNs.
  
• Evaluatethe impact of engineering changes on:

Component Obsolescence Management

• Monitorcomponent lifecycle status using OEM notifications, PCNs, and lifecycledatabases.
  
• IdentifyEnd-of-Life (EOL), Not Recommended for New Design (NRND), and obsoletecomponents.
  
• Assessthe impact of obsolete parts on active products and customer programs.
  
• Developmitigation plans to address supply continuity risks.
  
• Maintainan obsolescence risk register and provide periodic management reports.
  

Alternate Part Identification & Qualification

• Identifysuitable alternate components considering:

• Performparametric comparison of alternate parts.
  
• Coordinatequalification testing and validation activities.
