Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Pune seeks a Mechanical Engineer to perform flow and thermal analysis of transformers, fuses, switchgear, UPS and related devices for thermal performance prediction. You will develop and validate analysis models and coordinate with teams in India, Europe, the US and China to support design intent.

You will work on conjugate heat transfer, 1D models and digital prototypes, deploy Analysis First on low/medium complexity components, and help mature DP capabilities while seeking

• 0-1 Years of Experience in relevant domain

Responsibilities

• Perform flow and thermal analysis of electrical products for thermal performance prediction
• Collaborate with teams located in India, Europe, US & China to develop and validate analysis models
• Develop and validate digital prototypes to mimic product physics and predict CTQ’s
• Ensure Analysis First deployment on low/medium complex electrical components/assemblies
• Highlight technical and schedule risks on assigned programs and work towards mitigating those
• Support simulation requests to manage workload with SMEs
• Participate in ES Americas level initiatives and contribute via value-add
• Learn DFSS fundamentals and implement on programs
• Embrace continuous improvement initiatives and demonstrate increased value from project deliverables
• Create valuable IP to expand the innovation envelope for the organization

Job description

What you’ll do:

The primary responsibility of this role is to perform flow & thermal analysis of transformer/fuses/switchgear/UPS/Circuit protection devices & allied electrical products for thermal performance prediction. Individual will be required to partner with teams located in India, Europe, US & China, understand specific design intent, develop, and validate analysis models to substantiate various engineering designs. He/She should be conversant with different products within the electrical portfolio. Candidate should ensure proper coordination and communication with all stakeholders by following project management best practices.This position is responsible for handling medium complex technologies related to conjugate heat transfer,flow estimtion & electronics cooling wherein incumbent is expected to independently handle requirements and deliver quality results within stipulated timelines.

The candidate should have strong background in heat transfer,fluid mechanics with thorough understanding of CFD analysis fundamentals and 1D models.He/She should proactively look for various opportunities to validate his/her analytical predictions with physical testing to constantly mature DP capabilities.

A. Technology Responsibilities:

• Contribute towards maturing identified technical capabilities aligned to flow, thermal domain from ES Ameicas portfolio
• Work closely with product and analysis experts to Develop and validate digital prototypes to mimic product physics and predict key CTQ’s

B. Program Responsibilities:

• Ensure Analysis First deployment on low/medium complex electrical componenets/Assemblies
• Highlight apt technical and schedule risks on assigned low/medium complex programs and work towards metigating those
• Work with SME to effectively support simulation request to manage workload

C. Extended Responsibilities:

• Participate in ES Americas level initiatives and contribute thru solid value add
• Learn DFSS fundamentals & implement on the programs
• Embrace continuous improvement initiatives and demonstrate consistent increase in “value” from project deliverables
• Create valuable IP to expand innovation envelope for organization growth
