Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC, Coimbatore Campus, invites applications for an Engineer - Equipment Preventive Maintenance. Lead Shift Technicians and coordinate SMT shift activities to ensure smooth production and effective changeovers.

The role emphasizes monitoring uptime, minimizing stoppages, and managing spares. You will work with the PM team to resolve technical issues and drive maintenance excellence across SMT lines.

Qualifications

• BE degree required.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in maintenance in manufacturing/SMT environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead Shift Technicians and coordinate SMT shift activities to ensure smooth production.
• Coordinate with Planning and Production for day-to-day manufacturing requirements, line setup, changeover, and monitor SMT line performance.
• Focus on minor stoppages, machine alarms, feeder/nozzle issues, and process interruptions and drive quick resolution.
• Coordinate with Equipment/PM team and machine suppliers to close all breakdowns, technical issues, and open action points.
• Support training arrangements and skill development of SMT technicians on machines, process controls, troubleshooting, and safety.
• Ensure critical SMT spares, feeders, nozzles, consumables, and tools are available to support uninterrupted production.
• Monitor SMT machine uptime, output, downtime, and line efficiency and take corrective actions for performance gaps.
