Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of SMT machines.
• Provide real-time technical support to SMT production lines.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
• Analyze recurring issues and suggest improvements for machine efficiency.

Skills

Position:SMT Equipment Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

The SMTEquipment Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the maintenance,troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Surface Mount Technology (SMT)production equipment to ensure maximum uptime, quality, and efficiency in anEMS manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

EquipmentMaintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform preventive, predictive, and correctivemaintenance of SMT machines such as:
• Reflow Ovens (e.g.,Heller, Vitronics)
• SPI (Solder PasteInspection) & AOI systems
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical,pneumatic, and software-related issues.

LineSupport & Uptime Improvement

• Provide real-time technical support to SMTproduction lines.
• Minimize downtime and ensure quick machinerecovery.
• Maintain MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) andMTTR (Mean Time To Repair) targets.

PreventiveMaintenance Planning

• Develop and execute preventive maintenanceschedules.
• Maintain maintenance records and logs.
• Ensure calibration of critical equipment.
• Support installation, setup, and qualificationof new SMT equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors during machineinstallation and upgrades.

Process& Equipment Optimization

• Analyze recurring issues and implementcorrective actions.
• Suggest improvements for machine efficiencyand yield enhancement.
• Participate in continuous improvementinitiatives (Lean, Six Sigma).

SpareParts & Inventory Management

• Manage critical spare parts inventory.
• Coordinate with procurement for timelyavailability of parts.
• Optimize inventory to reduce costs withoutaffecting uptime.

Documentation& Compliance

• Maintain SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance checklists.
• Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, and quality standards (ISO, IPC).

Training& Skill Development

• Train technicians and operators on equipmenthandling and basic troubleshooting.
• Upgrade skills based on new technologies andequipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in: Electronics Engineering /Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics or related field

Experience

• 3–8 years of experience in SMT equipmentmaintenance in an EMS environment.
• Hands-on experience with major SMT machinebrands.

TechnicalSkills

• Strong knowledge of SMT processes and equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with PLCs, sensors, servo systems, and vision systems.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g.,IPC-A-610).
