Job summary

ACT Plast Paints is seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to manage electroplating, electrical, and mechanical upkeep in a manufacturing setting in Tamil Nadu. You will oversee PLC and automation interactions, implement PM schedules, inspect electrical safety, and ensure uninterrupted production of auto components.

Qualifications

  • Experience in electroplating maintenance for auto components.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, rectifiers, MCCs, control panels, motors, VFDs, and transformers.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance checklists.
  • Safety and compliance awareness in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plating tanks, rectifiers, busbars, anodes, cathodes, pumps, filters, heaters, agitators, and material-handling systems.
  • Ensure smooth operation of automatic/semi-automatic plating lines.
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and restore production quickly.
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC circuits, rectifiers, MCCs, control panels, motors, contactors, relays, VFDs, and transformers.
  • Monitor rectifier voltage/current and investigate abnormal output.
  • Check cables, busbars, electrical connections, earthing, and insulation.
  • Maintain pumps, gearboxes, bearings, chains, couplings, shafts, valves, pneumatic cylinders, and hoists.
  • Carry out alignment, lubrication, replacement, and repair activities.
  • Troubleshoot basic PLC, HMI, sensors, proximity switches, level sensors, temperature controllers, and interlocks.
  • Coordinate with automation teams for major PLC/programming issues.
  • Maintain automatic sequence and safety interlocks.
  • Prepare and execute PM schedules for plating equipment and utilities.
  • Monitor equipment condition and identify potential failures before breakdown.
  • Maintain maintenance checklists and equipment history.
  • Maintain exhaust/ventilation systems, chillers, compressors, cooling systems, ETP-related equipment, pumps, and other plant utilities as applicable.

  1. Electroplating Line Maintenance

6. Utilities & Supporting Equipment
  • Maintain exhaust/ventilation systems, chillers, compressors, cooling systems, ETP-related equipment, pumps, and other plant utilities as applicable.
7. Safety & Compliance
  • Follow electrical safety, LOTO, chemical-safety, PPE, and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Ensure proper earthing, emergency stops, guarding, and safety interlocks.
  • Participate in safety audits and corrective actions.
