Job summary

Motherson seeks a hands-on maintenance engineer to support SPMs, automation equipment, and robotics in our manufacturing facilities.

You will troubleshoot PLC programming, electrical and pneumatic systems, and assist during installation and commissioning to keep lines running smoothly.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in engineering (full-time) required.
• 3–5 years in maintenance of SPMs, automation equipment and robotics.
• Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting (Mitsubishi, Siemens, Delta).
• Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and automation systems.
• Experience with EPSON, YAMAHA and FANUC robots.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLC programming, wiring, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues.
• Resolve issues during machine installation and commissioning activities.
• Independently handle critical machine breakdowns and restore operations promptly.
• Modify PLC logic per production requirements.
• Implement poka-yoke solutions to address quality issues and prevent defects.
• Convert semi-automatic stations into automated systems to boost productivity.
• Execute cycle time reduction projects to enhance operational efficiency.
• Implement MTBF improvement initiatives to minimize recurring breakdowns.
• Drive MTTR reduction activities to reduce downtime and improve machine availability.

• Independently handle critical machine breakdowns and restore operations promptly.
• Perform PLC logic modifications based on production requirements.
• Implement poka-yoke solutions to address quality issues and prevent defects.
• Convert semi-automatic stations into automated systems to improve productivity and reduce manpower.
• Execute cycle time reduction projects to enhance operational efficiency.
• Implement MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) improvement initiatives to minimize recurring breakdowns.
• Drive MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) reduction activities to reduce downtime and improve machine availability.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in any specialization (Full Time).
• 3-5 years of experience in maintenance of SPMs, automation equipment, and robotics in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Mitsubishi, Siemens, Delta) and HMI systems (Proface, Mitsubishi, Delta).
• Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and automation systems.
• Experience in handling EPSON, YAMAHA, and FANUC robots.
