Job summary

Tech Research Online is seeking an Email Marketing Specialist to lead and optimize our high-frequency email campaigns. You will craft strategic newsletters, nurture an engaged B2B tech audience, and collaborate with editorial, design, and growth teams to promote thought leadership and exclusive insights.

You’ll manage workflows, lists, deliverability, and performance across platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot, Brevo, SendGrid). A data-driven, detail-oriented communicator with content mindset is ideal.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of email marketing experience, preferably in media/B2B content.
• Experience managing high-frequency newsletters.
• Deep understanding of email content strategy, segmentation & lifecycle.
• Proficient with Mailchimp/HubSpot or similar tools.
• Experience with ESPs like Freshmarketer/ActiveCampaign/Brevo, etc.
• Excellent written communication; repurpose content for email.
• Strong analytics using email metrics to optimize.
• Understanding of deliverability & list hygiene.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for segmentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Mass Communication/Journalism or related field.

Job Brief:

We are looking for a highly driven and detail-oriented Email Marketing Specialist at a fast-paced B2B tech media publication Tech Research Online to lead and optimize our email marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate is well-versed in creating strategic, high-conversion email campaigns that support both building and nurturing an engaged email-first audience around our B2B tech media publication.

You will play a pivotal role in developing email workflows, managing mailing lists, and ensuring high deliverability and inbox placement across platforms. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing high-frequency newsletter campaigns, a keen eye for editorial detail, and a strong understanding of content-led email marketing. You will work closely with editorial, design, and growth teams to promote high-quality thought leadership, industry news, and exclusive insights, while building a strong community of subscribers.

Responsibilities:

• Own and execute daily and weekly newsletters featuring breaking tech news, expert articles, interviews, and industry reports.
• Promote editorial and thought leadership content (e.g., blogs, whitepapers, reports) to segmented subscriber lists with personalized messaging based on user behavior, preferences, and performance data.
• Design, test, and optimize email templates for responsiveness, branding consistency, and performance across devices.
• Create and manage a strategic email content calendar, aligned with publishing schedules, marketing campaigns, and brand priorities.
• Build and manage a healthy, engaged subscriber base, focusing on list growth, retention, and lifecycle engagement.
• Manage email tools and platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, Brevo, and SendGrid for campaign execution, automation, and performance tracking.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in email marketing strategy, compliance standards, and technology advancements.
• Optimize subject lines, preview text, layout, and CTAs to boost open rates, click-throughs, and conversions.
• Monitor and maintain email list hygiene, including managing opt-outs, bounces, and GDPR/CAN-SPAM compliance.
• Ensure high inboxing rates and domain reputation using industry best practices and technical oversight.

Requirements:
