Job Purpose
To develop, monitor, and control project schedules related to electrical engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities. The role is responsible for ensuring timely execution of electrical works, tracking project progress, identifying risks, supporting resource planning, and contributing to overall project success.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed electrical project schedules using Primavera P6/MS Project.
- Prepare engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning schedules.
- Establish baseline schedules and monitor performance against planned targets.
- Prepare rolling 2-week, 4-week, and 3-month look-ahead schedules.
- Identify critical path activities and schedule risks.
Progress Monitoring
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress of electrical activities.
- Track installation of transformers, switchgear, substations, MCCs, PCCs, cabling, lighting, and earthing systems.
- Update schedules based on field progress and actual performance.
- Analyze schedule variances and recommend corrective actions.
Project Controls & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Generate project dashboards and KPI reports.
- Conduct delay analysis and recovery planning.
- Prepare S-Curves, progress curves, and productivity reports.
- Support Earned Value Management (EVM) and project control activities.
Resource Planning
- Forecast manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
- Monitor resource productivity and utilization.
- Coordinate with construction teams for optimized resource deployment.
Coordination
- Liaise with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, Commissioning, and Client teams.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for material delivery and work progress.
- Participate in project review meetings and planning sessions.
Risk Management
- Identify schedule constraints and project risks.
- Develop mitigation and acceleration plans.
- Support change management and impact assessments.

Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering may be considered for Engineer level with relevant experience.

Experience
Electrical Planning Engineer
- 3-6 Years of experience.
- Experience in EPC, Steel Plant, Power Plant, Industrial, Infrastructure, or Manufacturing Projects.
Senior Electrical Planning Engineer
- 6-10 Years of experience.
- Experience in large industrial projects, steel plants, BTG projects, refinery, petrochemical, defence, or infrastructure projects preferred.
- Proven experience in project planning and project controls.
