Job summary

Blue Star invites applications for a Planning Engineer-Substations based in Vikhroli. You will prepare baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, develop WBS for engineering, procurement, erection and commissioning, and define activity sequencing, durations and dependencies.

You will track progress, prepare weekly and monthly reports, MIS dashboards and delay analyses, coordinate with engineering, procurement and site teams, and ensure alignment with client schedules for

Qualifications

• Must have BE Electrical and experience with EPC projects.
• Experience in planning and scheduling using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Strong analytical and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Develop WBS for Engineering, Procurement, Erection & commissioning.
• Define activity sequencing, durations and dependencies.
• Identify critical path and milestones.
• Track project progress (daily/weekly/monthly) and compare planned vs actual progress.
• Prepare and submit weekly & monthly progress reports and MIS dashboards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and site teams to ensure alignment with client schedules (PGCIL / SEB / private utilities).
• Plan and track manpower, equipment and material availability.
• Identify delays and propose corrective actions.

Job Description

• Prepare baseline project schedule using tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
• Develop WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for:
  • Engineering
  • Procurement
  • Erection & commissioning
• Define activity sequencing, durations, and dependencies
• Identify critical path and milestones
• Track project progress (daily/weekly/monthly)
• Compare planned vs actual progress
• Generate:
  • S-curves
  • Look-ahead schedules (2-week / 1-month)
• Identify delays and recommend corrective actions
• Coordinate with:
  • Engineering team (drawings, approvals)
  • Procurement (material delivery tracking)
  • Site team (execution progress)
• Ensure alignment with client schedule (PGCIL / SEB / private utilities)
• Plan and track:
  • Manpower
  • Equipment
  • Material availability
• Optimize resource utilization to avoid delays
• Prepare and submit:
  • Weekly & monthly progress reports
  • MIS dashboards
  • Delay analysis reports
• Present project status to management and clients
• Conduct:
  • EOT (Extension of Time) analysis

• Support commercial team in claims and dispute resolution
