Job summary

Torrent Power is seeking an experienced Project Planner in Ahmedabad District to lead scheduling and coordination for large infrastructure or thermal power plant projects. You will develop and maintain IPS, review Level3/Level4 schedules, and define milestones across BTG, BOP and other plant systems.

Job description

Experience :

• 5-10 years of experience in planning and coordination for large infrastructure or thermal power plant projects.
• Exposure to coalbased power plants (subcritical / supercritical units 500 MW) preferred.

Role & responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare and maintain Integrated Project Schedules (IPS) using tools such as Primavera P6 / MS Project.
• Develop/Review Level3 and Level4 schedules covering Conceptualization, Approvals, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning
• Define project milestones, critical paths, and key interfaces across all plant systems (BTG, BOP, CHP, AHP, WTP, ETP, etc.).

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Collect progress inputs from various stakeholders
• Analyze planned vs actual progress, identify schedule slippages, and prepare catchup / recovery schedules.
• Prepare periodic progress reports for management and stakeholders.
• Develop dashboards showing Schedule Performance Index (SPI), milestone health, and critical activities.

Interdisciplinary Coordination

• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Quality, Safety, and Commissioning teams to align deliverables.
• Track engineering deliverables, vendor document approvals, and construction readiness.
• Ensure timely availability of inputs for site activities (drawings, materials, approvals).

Interface & Risk Management

• Identify interface risks between packages (civil mechanical, electrical I&C, vendor site).
• Support preparation and updating of project risk registers related to schedule and coordination.
• Highlight potential delays due to procurement, logistics, or external dependencies and propose mitigation plans.

Contractual & Commercial Support

• Assist in analysis of timerelated contractual issues, including EOT (Extension of Time) submissions.
• Maintain records supporting delay analysis, productivity impacts, and change events.
• Support preparation of planning inputs for claims and variation evaluations.

Meetings & Documentation

• Organize and participate in progress review meetings, coordination meetings, and milestone review sessions.
• Prepare minutes of meetings (MoM) and track action closure.
• Maintain planning documentation, baselines, revisions, and progress archives.

Preference Skill :

• Proficiency in Advance Excel, Primavera P6 and Power BI
• Strong understanding of thermal power plant systems and execution sequencing.
• Knowledge of project controls, WBS development, baseline management, and progress measurement techniques.
• Ability to analyze schedules, identify critical risks, and propose corrective actions.
