Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer (AM) will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of electrical systems and components within the zinc smelter plant. This role involves ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical equipment and systems, supporting plant operations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Development:
   • Design and develop electrical systems and components for the zinc smelter plant, including power distribution, motor control, and lighting systems.
   • Create detailed electrical schematics, diagrams, and plans using CAD software.
2. Installation and Commissioning:
   • Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
   • Identify and categorize critical assets (roasters, leaching reactors, acid plants, electrolysis cells, boilers, compressors, etc.) based on risk, safety, and production dependency
   • Ensure that installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
   • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical equipment and systems.
   • Carry out RCM (Reliability Cantered Maintenance) and FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) for critical equipment.
   • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
4. Safety and Compliance:
   • Ensure all electrical activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
   • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
5. Project Support:
   • Assist in the planning, execution, and management of electrical projects, including upgrades and new installations.
   • Coordinate with other departments and external contractors to ensure project objectives are met.
6. Continuous Improvement:
   • Identify opportunities for improving electrical systems and processes to enhance plant performance and efficiency.
   • Implement best practices and innovative solutions in electrical engineering.
   • Carry out RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) and FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) for critical equipment.
   • Conduct RCA and implement corrective & preventive measures to eliminate repeat failures.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain accurate records of all electrical activities, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and project documentation.
   • Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field & Electrical License or DGMS Licence.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a smelting or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, motor control, and automation.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
