Job summary

Omam Consultants seeks an electrical design engineer to lead the design and development of hydro generators, excitation systems and auxiliary systems.

The role involves reviewing calculations, drawings and specifications, supporting bidding and project execution, and ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, ISO standards while coordinating with customers, consultants, OEMs and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• B.tech Electrical engineering is mandatory.
• Experience with electrical design and generators is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and development of hydro generators, excitation systems, and auxiliary systems.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Manage modernization, uprating, rehabilitation, and reverse-engineering projects.
• Provide technical support for bidding, project execution, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, ISO, and customer-specific standards.
• Coordinate with customers, consultants, OEMs, and manufacturing teams.

• Lead root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

Electrical machine design and analysis tools , experience with electrical design and generator, mandatory qualification is B.tech Electrical engineering.
