Job summary

Omam Consultants invites an experienced Electrical Design Leader to head the design and development of hydro generators, excitation systems, and auxiliaries. The role emphasizes technical leadership, modernization, and adherence to international standards.

The incumbent will coordinate with customers, OEMs, and project stakeholders, support bidding, and oversee testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting, while mentoring a high-caliber engineering team and applying advanced FEA/EM simulations

Qualifications

• Graduate Electrical Engineer with 20+ years in electrical design of generators.
• Experience in renewable energy (Hydro/Thermal/Steam) projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Cross-Functional Coordination with customers, consultants, OEMs, manufacturing teams, and project stakeholders.
• Bidding & Project Support for bidding, execution, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Electromagnetic & Thermal Analysis in machine design, insulation systems, and protection/control systems.
• Mentoring & Team Development to build engineering teams while driving technical excellence.
• Software Proficiency with FEA/electromagnetic simulation software and AutoCAD Electrical.

Role & responsibilities

The incumbent shall be responsible for overall Electrical Design Leadership (Lead design and development of hydro generators, excitation systems, and auxiliary systems), Technical Review & Approval, Modernization & Rehabilitation, Compliance Assurance(International and customer standards).

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Interface with customers, consultants, OEMs, manufacturing teams, and project stakeholders.
• Bidding & Project Support: Provide technical support for bidding, execution, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Electromagnetic & Thermal Analysis: Apply expertise in machine design, insulation systems, and protection/control systems.
• Mentoring & Team Development: Build and develop engineering teams while driving technical excellence.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient with FEA/electromagnetic simulation software and AutoCAD Electrical.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate Electrical Engineering with 20+ years of experience from renewable energy (Hydro/Thermal / Steam) in Electrical Designing of Generator.

Good communication and leadership skills.

Must have exposure in Electrical Generator Designing.
