Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Lead Design Engineer (Mechanical)-Generator (Sr. Manager/ AGM/ DGM) to execute basic and detail design of generators for large hydro projects in India.

Based in Vadodara, you will lead layouts, drawings, BoMs, calculations and analyses for generator assemblies and components. You will collaborate with European experts, troubleshoot at shop and site, and drive continuous improvement of products and processes.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering design concepts.
• Experience with 3D CAD in large hydro generator projects.
• Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes involved.
• Experience in technical trouble shooting.
• Proactive, team player with good communication.

Role & responsibilities

Lead Design Engineer (Mechanical)-Generator, with the designations ranging from Sr. Manager / AGM / DGM (incommensurate with experience) for Executing Basic and Detail design of Generators for all Large Hydro, Large Refurbushiments, Service Rehab & Complex Compact Hydro Generator projects and design of Very Large Motor-

Generators for Large Pump Storage Projects (PSPs). Working on prestigious Indian & International projects.

Basic & Detail design of Generator assemblies and components.

• Layouts, Drawings, BoMs, Purchase Specifications, Calculations, Analysis
• Continuous improvement of product & processes, optimisation
• Technical troubleshooting at shop and site
• Handling customer queries and approvals for Indian and International projects
• Design collaboration and reviews with technical experts in parent company at Europe

Preferred candidate profile

• Mechanical Engineering B.E. / M. E. / M. Tech
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design of of large hydro generators or other heavy engineering equipment using 3D CAD software (NX and TeamCenter preferable)
• Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering design concepts
• Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes involved
• Experience of technical trouble shooting
• Proactive, avid learner, team player, good communication ability
