Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an experienced electrical design professional in Chennai to design and integrate electrical layouts and schematics for large-scale projects. The role involves selecting materials, performing load calculations, and ensuring compliance with global and local electrical codes.

Responsibilities include preparing BOQ/RFQs, coordinating with mechanical and instrumentation teams, and producing detailed drawings and reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Design and create electrical layouts, MV/LV schematics, and specifications in alignment with project requirements and engineering standards
• Review and interpret Electrical Diagrams and Schematics to integrate electrical systems within the overall process design
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and RFQs for electrical system required for project tenders
• Perform calculations to determine optimal power distribution and load balancing across electrical systems
• Analyzing cable voltage drops, fault currents, Transformer, DG & UPS capacities, and short-circuit calculations for Electrical systems
• Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with industry codes and standards, such as IEC,IS,BS, NEC, IEEE, etc., and local regulations
• Collaborate with CAD and BIM engineers to produce detailed electrical design drawings and 3D models
• Prepare detailed project progress reports, technical documents, and presentations for stakeholders
