PeopleStrong seeks an Electrical Draughtsman to design electrical layouts, MV/LV schematics, and system specifications for projects. You will prepare BOQs, RFQs, and perform load calculations, ensuring compliance with IEC/NEC/IS standards while coordinating with CAD/BIM teams for detailed drawings and 3D models.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical codes and collaboration with mechanical, plumbing, firefighting, and instrumentation engineers to ensure seamless integration.

Formación

• Design and create electrical layouts, MV/LV schematics and specifications per project requirements
• Select materials and components based on design specs and codes
• Prepare BOQ and RFQs for electrical systems for tenders
• Perform power distribution load calculations and short-circuit analyses
• Ensure compliance with IEC, NEC, IS, BS, IEEE and local regulations
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, firefighting, and instrumentation engineers for integrated design
• Collaborate with CAD/BIM engineers on detailed drawings and 3D models
• Maintain project documentation and progress reports

Job Description

Design and create electrical layouts, MV/LV schematics, and specifications in alignment with project requirements and engineering standardsSelect appropriate materials, electrical components, cable sizes, and systems based on design specifications, codes, and project requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards (such as IEC, NEC, or local codes).Review and interpret Electrical Diagrams and Schematics to integrate electrical systems within the overall process designPrepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Request for Quotations (RFQs) for electrical system required for project tendersPerform calculations to determine optimal power distribution and load balancing across electrical systems. Analyzing cable voltage drops, fault currents, Transformer, DG & UPS capacities, and short-circuit calculations for Electrical systemsConduct electrical load analysis to evaluate the flexibility and mechanical integrity of electrical systems, including cables, conduits, and supportsEnsure all electrical designs and installations comply with industry codes and standards, such as IEC,IS,BS, NEC, IEEE, etc., and local regulationsContinuously maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to electrical engineeringCo-ordinate with mechanical,plumping,firefighting, and instrumentation engineers to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project designEngage with contractors and vendors to manage electrical design reviews, procurement processes, and the preparation of installation drawingsCollaborate with CAD and BIM (Building Information Modeling) engineers to produce detailed electrical design drawings and 3D models.Prepare detailed project progress reports, technical documents, and presentations for stakeholders.Maintain up-to-date and records of electrical designs, material certifications, inspection reports, and other relevant project documentationAssist CAD/BIM engineers in creating standardized libraries, templates, and 3D models for electrical systemsContinuous knowledge enhancement and stay updated on the latest electrical technologies, industry standards, and regulatory standards
