Job summary

Acwa is seeking an Electrical BoP Design Expert to lead electrical design, feasibility assessments, basic engineering and FEED for large-scale renewable projects, including BESS, Wind and Solar PV. The role interfaces with EPC contractors, consultants, and technology providers to deliver optimized, reliable solutions.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in renewables, with hands-on design, specifications, SLDs, and plant layouts, plus proficiency in ETAP, CYMCAP, PVsyst and AutoCAD, enabling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or Control Systems; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Renewable Power and Utilities sectors.
• Strong hands-on expertise in electrical system design, BoP equipment specs, SLDs, schematics and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs, BoQs/BOMs and technical specifications for renewable energy projects.
• Prepare and review Basic Engineering and FEED packages.
• Review and validate outsourced designs for compliance with specifications and standards.
• Support pre-bid technical reviews, design optimization and handover to EPC and Asset Management teams.
• Provide technical guidance to EPC contractors and support project execution, including design changes and issue resolution.
• Support renewable project bids and provide input to Investment Committee assessments.

Electrical BoP Design Expert – BESS / Wind / Solar PV

We are looking for an experienced Electrical BoP Design Expert to join our Renewables Engineering team and play a key role in the development of BESS, Wind and Solar PV projects.

This role will provide technical leadership across electrical design, feasibility assessments, basic engineering and FEED, while working closely with technology teams, EPC contractors, consultants and other stakeholders to deliver optimized, reliable and cost-effective renewable energy projects.

• Develop electrical designs, BoQs/BOMs and technical specifications for renewable energy projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide design guidance for BESS and Wind projects.
• Prepare and review Basic Engineering and FEED packages.
• Review and validate outsourced designs to ensure compliance with technical specifications and standards.
• Support pre-bid technical reviews, design optimization and smooth handover to EPC and Asset Management teams.
• Provide technical guidance to EPC contractors and support project execution, including design modifications and technical issue resolution.
• Support renewable project bids and provide technical input to Investment Committee assessments.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, business development and procurement teams, as well as external EPCs, consultants and technology providers.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably specializing in Power Systems or Control Systems.
• Master’s degree in Power Systems / Electrical Power Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within the Renewable Power and Utilities sector.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in electrical system design, calculations, BoP equipment specifications, SLDs, schematics and plant/equipment layouts.
• Proficiency in ETAP, CYMCAP, PVsyst and AutoCAD.
• Ability to work independently and provide strong technical oversight across renewable energy projects.
