Job summary

Samridhi in Pune is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead the engineering and design function for utility-scale Solar PV, Wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role reports directly to the CEO and involves driving engineering excellence while ensuring technical quality, cost optimization, and operational performance.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 15-20+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering with proven experience in utility-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in Renewable Energy Engineering.
• Proven experience in utility-scale Solar, Wind, and BESS projects.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy standards and regulations.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead the engineering and design function for utility-scale Solar PV, Wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

This leadership role reports directly to the CEO and will be responsible for driving engineering excellence from project conception through commissioning while ensuring technical quality, cost optimization, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering activities for Solar PV, Wind, and BESS projects
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, layouts, and construction drawings
• Develop technical specifications, RFQs, and scope of work documents
• Evaluate and select key equipment including modules, inverters, wind turbines, transformers, and BOS components
• Support procurement, contract management, and vendor development initiatives
• Drive cost leadership through engineering innovation and value engineering
• Support project teams during construction, commissioning, and handover
• Resolve engineering challenges and implement corrective action
• Lead energy yield analysis and resource assessment
• Conduct root cause analysis and performance improvement initiatives

Desired Profile

Education

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems (preferred)

Experience

• 15–20+ years in Renewable Energy Engineering
• Proven experience in utility-scale Solar, Wind, and BESS projects
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
