Job summary

CHETTINAD MORIMURA SEMICONDUCTOR MATERIAL PVT LTD in Hyderabad invites an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Leader to oversee safe, reliable operation of all plant equipment, drive preventive and predictive maintenance, and minimize unplanned downtime.

The role requires hands-on expertise with pulverizing, crushing, grinding, screening, conveying, classification and dust-collection, plus strong leadership to coordinate cross-functional teams and contractors, while ensuring safety and equipment

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance in process or continuous manufacturing.
• Experience in mineral processing, ceramics, cement or related process industries.
• Hands-on experience with pulverizing, crushing, grinding, screening, conveying, classification and dust collection.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance, SRCA, and equipment reliability improvement.
• Proven leadership, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Mechanical Maintenance function to ensure safe, reliable plant equipment.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities to maximise uptime.
• Monitor maintenance and performance of pulverizing, crushing, grinding, screening, conveying, classification, and dust-collection systems.
• Ensure reliable operation of rotating equipment: compressors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, conveyors, motors.
• Develop and monitor maintenance schedules, shutdown plans, and overhaul schedules.
• Train, mentor, and develop the mechanical maintenance team.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Mechanical Maintenance function to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant equipment.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Monitor the maintenance and performance of pulverizing, crushing, grinding, screening, conveying, classification, and dust-collection systems.
• Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of rotating equipment, including compressors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, conveyors, motors, and associated mechanical systems.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and monitor maintenance schedules, equipment inspection programs, shutdown plans, and overhauling schedules.
• Work closely with Production, Electrical, Purchase, and other cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues and minimize plant downtime.
• Ensure adequate availability of critical spares, tools, consumables, and maintenance resources.
• Supervise and manage maintenance contractors, ensuring quality, safety, productivity, and timely completion of assigned jobs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, inspection reports, and breakdown analysis.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, statutory requirements, maintenance standards, and company policies.
• Drive initiatives focused on equipment reliability, energy efficiency, cost optimization, productivity improvement, and continuous improvement.
• Lead major plant shutdowns, equipment overhauling, installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement projects as required.
• Train, mentor, and develop the mechanical maintenance team to enhance technical capability and overall performance.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a process or continuous manufacturing environment.
• Experience in industries such as mineral processing, ceramics, cement or other process industries will be preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience in pulverizing, crushing, grinding, screening, conveying, classification, and dust-collection systems.
• Proven experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of rotating equipment, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, compressors, and associated mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, SRCA, condition monitoring, and equipment reliability improvement.
• Strong leadership, troubleshooting, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience in team leadership and contractor management.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, equipment reliability, and cost optimization.
