Job summary

Disinfecto Chemical Industries Pvt. Ltd. (DCI) is looking for a proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering/Maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in mechanical systems and plant equipment.
• Experience with plant utilities including air compressors and DG sets.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, GD&T, and P&IDs.
• Basic CAD knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and test new machines, equipment, and mechanical parts in the plant.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain plant utilities including air compressors and DG sets.
• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical systems to ensure maximum uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues related to bearings, pumps, motors, gearboxes, couplings, conveyors, and other rotating/reciprocating equipment.
• Perform emergency repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and promptly replace worn or damaged parts.
• Plan and execute routine inspection and lubrication schedules; maintain accurate maintenance records/logs.
• Coordinate spare parts planning, procurement follow-up, and inventory management for critical mechanical spares.
• Identify root causes of recurring failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (RCA/CAPA).
• Drive innovative solutions for process improvement, energy saving, and cost reduction across machinery and utility operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Liaise with vendors and contractors for equipment servicing, calibration, fabrication work, and annual maintenance contracts (AMCs).
• Work closely with production, electrical/automation, and quality teams to support smooth plant operations.
• Support installation, commissioning, layout planning, and periodic upgradation of machinery and utility systems.

About the Role :

Disinfecto Chemical Industries Pvt. Ltd. (DCI) is looking for a proactive and technically sound Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering/Maintenance team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of plant machinery and utilities, covering rotating and reciprocating equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, air compressors, bearings, and general mechanical systems.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong fundamentals in mechanical systems pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, couplings, conveyors, and piping.
• Working knowledge of plant utilities such as air compressors, and DG sets.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, valves, actuators, and associated troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of bearing selection, fitment, lubrication practices, alignment, and basic failure analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) is not mandatory but will be an added advantage.
• Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and basic machine tools (lathe, drilling, milling, welding/fabrication basics).
• Working knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance planning and maintenance management practices.
• Basic understanding of quality and process-improvement concepts such as Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with safety norms, statutory compliance, and environmental requirements related to factory equipment.
