Job summary

Miraj Group in India seeks a Cinema Supervisor to oversee daily cinema operations, staff, cash handling, merchandising, sanitation and safety. The role focuses on achieving service standards, managing costs, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and legal requirements.

You will supervise shifts, monitor yields and stock, drive guest satisfaction, and coordinate with Programming & Marketing. This position requires hands-on leadership to maintain high-quality cinema service.

Responsibilities

• Supervises department employees, facilities, operations and cost on a day-to-day basis.
• Key Management: Includes opening & closing of shift.
• Cash Management: Includes issuing of daily floats, handling cinema imprest, shift banking, shortage control.
• Monitors and Controls on an ongoing basis: Quality levels of product and service; Operating costs of cinema; Merchandising and Marketing/promotions in the Unit; Sanitation, cleanliness and hygiene of the cinema area.
• Guest Satisfaction: Ensuring guest satisfaction by achieving high levels of service standards as per SOP.
• Inventory and Yield: Ensure yield of popcorn and calibration of Coke and Tea/Coffee Machine; monitor and control daily shortages.
• Upkeep and Maintenance / Safety: Upkeep of property per Housekeeping/Engineering Standards; 100% Safety/security compliance.
• Conducts daily briefing & sets targets/goals for the shift; checks staff grooming/discipline.
• Introduce new ways to minimize transaction time at box office and popcorn.
• Oversees cinema services from box-office to popcorn and cleaning; ensures high standards and quality services.
• Under Cinema Manager guidance, conducts staff orientation, training, on-the-job performance, coaching and disciplinary actions.
• Ensures displays are updated and coordinates with Programming & Marketing for compliances.
• Ensures compliance with all legal requirements related to cinemas.
• Maintains minimum stock levels and participates in weekly inventories.

• Monitors and Controls, on an ongoing basis:

a) Quality levels of product and service.

b) Operating costs of cinema.

c) Merchandising and Marketing all promotional activities /movies publicity in the Unit.

d) Sanitation, cleanliness and hygiene of the entire cinema area under his / her purview.

• Guest Satisfaction: Ensuring guest satisfaction by achieving high levels of Service Standards as per SOP.
• Inventory and Yield:

a) Ensure that Yield (including batch test and wastages) of popcorn and calibration of Coke and Tea/Coffee Machine is managed as per standards.

b) Monitor and control daily shortages.

• Upkeep and Maintenance / Safety:

a) Upkeep and Maintenance of property - (as per Housekeeping and Engineering Standards).

b) Ensure that the unit must adhere to 100% Safety/security systems.

• Conducts daily briefing & sets up targets/ goals for the shift, makes constant effort to achieve the same.
• Check for staff grooming/ discipline.
• To introduce new ways and means to minimize transaction time at box office and at the popcorn.
• Oversees the services of cinema from box-office to popcorn and cleaning. To ensure highest standards and quality services at all times.
• Conducts under the guidance of the Cinema Manager, such functions as employee orientation, staff training, on the job performance, coaching and disciplinary action if necessary, to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity.
• Ensures that displays are up-dated at all times, and effectively co-ordinates with Programming & Marketing for compliances.
• Ensures compliance with all legal requirements in connection with Cinemas.
• Maintains minimum stock levels of all items and participates in inventories on weekly basis.
