Job summary

Shivtirth Civil in Navi Mumbai seeks an experienced Civil CAD designer to prepare General Arrangement Drawings (GADs) for roads, highways, and structural components. Proficiency in AutoCAD LT 2D drafting and strong interpretation of design inputs from highway engineers are essential.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, lead junior CAD operators, manage drawing timelines, and ensure compliance with IRC, AASHTO, BIS standards and client revision controls.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and standards (IRC, AASHTO, BIS, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Prepare General Arrangement Drawings (GADs) for roads, highways, and structures.
• Interpret design inputs from highway design engineers and translate into drawings.
• Coordinate with design engineers and project managers to ensure compliance.
• Lead junior CAD operators and manage drawing timelines.

Job description

Qualification:

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Certified training in AutoCAD LT or equivalent drafting software.

Strong understanding of engineering drawings and standards (IRC, AASHTO, BIS, etc.).

Experience:

3-7 years of hands-on experience in preparation of General Arrangement Drawings (GADs) for roads, highways, and structural components (e.g., culverts, flyovers, bridges, retaining walls).

Proficient in interpreting design inputs (alignment, profile, cross-sections) from highway design engineers and translating them into precise and compliant drawings.

Experience working in infrastructure development projects, preferably under NHAI, MoRTH, or similar standards.

Key Skills:

Expertise in AutoCAD LT for 2D drafting.

Understanding of topographical surveys, utility plans, and land acquisition drawings.

Familiarity with project documentation, revision control, and sheet setup as per client standards.

Ability to prepare drawings such as:

• o Plan and Profile Drawings
• o Typical Cross-Sections
• o Structure Layouts (GADs)
• o Road Signage and Marking Plans
• o Drainage and Utility Layouts
• o Understand and Process Topography Survey Drawings as per IRC: SP: 19
• o Understand & Prepare the Drawing Scales & Layout Manager

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

Proven ability to work efficiently as part of a multi-disciplinary design team.

Strong coordination with design engineers, project managers, and QA teams.

Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding junior CAD operators, managing drawing timelines, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.

Able to take ownership of drawing deliverables and proactively resolve drafting issues.
