Job summary

Ericsson in Noida, India is seeking a Technical Authority Expert - SRF SCM RAN to lead software upgrades, configuration changes and related service quality activities for the RAN (2G/3G/4G). You will ensure changes meet SLA/WLA targets and follow proper methods to prevent outages.

You will coordinate with NOC, field engineering, RF and vendors to plan and execute upgrades, perform post-upgrade verification, monitor KPIs, and document changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, CS or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of GSM, 4G and 5G technologies.
• Hands-on configuration with Nokia/Ericsson RAN equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting LTE down sites and degraded performance.

About this opportunity

The Technical Authority Expert - SRF SCM RAN is responsible for planning, executing and owning software upgrades, configuration changes and related service quality activities for the RAN (2G/3G/4G) within the operations organization. The role ensures change activities meet SLA/WLA targets, follow correct methodologies to avoid outages, and include post upgrade verification and troubleshooting.

What you will do

• Execute and take ownership of RAN software upgrades/updates (BSC, eNodeB) and configuration changes according to approved change management processes.
• Prioritize and handle assigned work requests to meet SLA/WLA objectives; manage workload and escalations.
• Prepare and validate upgrade/change plans, rollback procedures and risk assessments prior to execution.
• Coordinate with cross functional teams (NOC, field engineering, RF, software teams, vendors) to schedule and perform upgrades with minimal service impact.
• Perform post upgrade validation, KPI checks and troubleshooting for downgraded or impacted sites, especially LTE (4G) cells.
• Monitor key service performance indicators (e.g., accessibility, retainability, throughput, RRC success, handover metrics) and interpret results to guide corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate change logs, configuration records and documentation for all activities performed.
• Organize in house training, create runbooks, and maintain backup plans to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer.
• Participate in technical reviews and recommend process or configuration improvements to enhance stability and service quality.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety, security and operational procedures to prevent outages caused by incorrect methodology.

The skills you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong Fundamental Knowledge of GSM, 4G, and 5G Technologies, with a good understanding of emerging telecom technologies, cloud-based RAN architecture, and upcoming advancements in the telecommunications domain.
• Hands-on Configuration Experience with Nokia and Ericsson RAN Equipment, including RAN network configuration, parameter management, feature implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support across different network technologies.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot post upgrade site issues, particularly LTE down site or degraded performance cases.
• Good knowledge of service network/application characteristics and KPIs, and ability to interpret KPI trends to diagnose problems.
• Familiar with change management, release management and operational SLAs/WLAs.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with vendor tools and OSS platforms used for RAN configuration and monitoring preferred.
