Job summary

Algihaz Marine is seeking a Diving Engineer to provide technical support for offshore diving and subsea operations in India. The role ensures diving systems, procedures, and equipment comply with IMCA, ADCI, DNV standards and client requirements, enabling safe and efficient operations.

You will collaborate with the Diving Manager, project engineers, and HSE teams to ensure technical integrity, compliance, and readiness of diving activities across offshore and nearshore projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, marine, or offshore engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in commercial diving engineering or subsea operations.
• Knowledge of IMCA, ADCI, and DNV diving standards; HUET certification mandatory.

Role Summary

The Diving Engineer is responsible for providing technical and engineering support to all diving and subsea operations within AMC’s offshore and nearshore projects. The role ensures that diving systems, procedures, and equipment meet regulatory, client, and company standards while enabling safe and efficient subsea operations. The Diving Engineer works closely with the Diving Manager, Project Engineers, and HSE teams to ensure technical integrity, compliance, and operational readiness of all diving activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for diving operations, including maintenance, inspection, and repair scopes.
• Prepare and review diving-related engineering documents such as procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Conduct engineering analysis for diving spreads, lifting systems, and subsea tools.
• Ensure diving equipment and systems comply with IMCA, ADCI, and class requirements.
• Support diving system mobilization, demobilization, and certification processes.
• Review project drawings and identify subsea work interfaces for diving activities.
• Liaise with the Diving Supervisor and vessel teams during offshore execution to provide technical solutions.
• Monitor equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and life-support system integrity.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and risk review sessions for diving operations.
• Prepare technical reports, as-built documentation, and lessons-learned summaries.
• Support tendering and project planning teams by providing diving-related technical inputs and resource assessments.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Offshore Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial diving engineering or subsea operations.
• Knowledge of IMCA, ADCI, and DNV diving standards. Offshore survival and HUET certification (mandatory).
• Familiarity with diving system components — DDC, LARS, compressors, and life support systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
• Certification or training in Diving System Maintenance or Diving Engineering (advantageous).

• Support the Diving Manager in planning, executing, and monitoring offshore diving operations.
• Provide engineering input for subsea work scopes such as inspection, maintenance, and repair.
• Conduct technical inspections of diving spreads and equipment pre-and post-deployment.
• Review vendor specifications and quotations for diving and subsea equipment.
• Maintain diving system documentation, registers, and technical drawings.
• Ensure all diving operations adhere to company safety and environmental policies.
• Participate in audits, incident investigations, and technical reviews.
• Coordinate with the HSE and QA/QC departments for compliance and verification.
• Contribute to training and competency development of diving personnel.
