Job summary

Algihaz Marine invites applications for a Pre-Commissioning Engineer to support planning, coordination and execution of pre-commissioning activities on offshore and onshore projects. You will ensure testing, cleaning and verification per procedures and international standards, working with the AMC team to deliver objectives safely and efficiently.

The role requires strong documentation, field supervision, and collaboration with Construction, QA/QC and HSE.

Qualifications

• 7 years of pipeline or mechanical pre-commissioning experience in offshore/onshore oil & gas projects.
• Knowledge of API, DNV, ASME, and ISO standards.
• Offshore survival and HUET certification preferred; familiarity with hydrostatic, pneumatic, and nitrogen testing operations.
• Basic knowledge of pressure testing equipment and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review pre-commissioning procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Assist in planning resources for pre-commissioning activities such as flooding, cleaning, gauging, pressure testing, dewatering, and drying.
• Interpret P&IDs and isometric drawings to define system boundaries and test requirements.
• Monitor field execution and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Provide technical support during pressure testing and line flushing.
• Coordinate with Construction, QA/QC, and HSE teams for safe execution.
• Prepare daily progress reports, test logs, and pre-commissioning records.
• Liaise with clients, inspectors, and third-party representatives for test witnessing.

Role Summary

The Pre-Commissioning Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of pre-commissioning activities on offshore and onshore projects. The role ensures that all systems and pipelines are tested, cleaned, and verified in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and international standards. The Pre-Commissioning Engineer works closely with the Pre-Commissioning Manager, Construction, HSE, and QA/QC teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review pre-commissioning procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Assist in planning and organizing resources for pre-commissioning activities such as flooding, cleaning, gauging, pressure testing, dewatering, and drying.
• Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and test packages to define system boundaries and test requirements.
• Monitor field execution of pre-commissioning operations and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Provide technical support to site supervisors during pressure testing and line flushing.
• Verify equipment calibration, testing tool readiness, and certification validity before operation.
• Coordinate with Construction, QA/QC, and HSE teams to ensure safe work execution.
• Prepare daily progress reports, test logs, and pre-commissioning records.
• Liaise with clients, inspectors, and third-party representatives for test witnessing.
• Support the preparation of as-built and final documentation for project handover.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and risk assessment sessions relevant to pre-commissioning.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Process, or Pipeline Engineering (or equivalent).
• 7 years of experience in pipeline or mechanical pre-commissioning in offshore/onshore oil & gas projects.
• Knowledge of international standards such as API, DNV, ASME, and ISO.
• Offshore survival and HUET certification (preferred). Familiarity with hydrostatic, pneumatic, and nitrogen testing operations.
• Basic knowledge of pressure testing equipment and instrumentation.

• Record and report field test data, including pressure logs and leak test results.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for system punch closure and documentation.
• Support dewatering, drying, and nitrogen purging operations.
• Ensure traceability of test equipment and calibration certificates.
• Participate in lessons-learned and continuous improvement programs.
• Promote AMC's safety culture during all pre-commissioning activities.
