Role Overview
Dayananda Sagar University is looking for an experienced and mature professional to lead the overall administration, operations, facilities and student management of the University’s hostels/residential facilities.
The role will be responsible for ensuring a safe, disciplined, well-managed and student-friendly residential environment across both boys’ and girls’ hostels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall administration and day-to-day operations of student housing/hostel facilities.
- Oversee boys’ and girls’ hostels, including student discipline, welfare, safety and conduct.
- Manage hostel wardens, residential staff, security, housekeeping and support teams.
- Ensure effective facilities management, maintenance, cleanliness, security and safety.
- Handle student concerns, grievances, emergencies and disciplinary matters.
- Coordinate with University administration, parents/guardians and other departments.
- Monitor student attendance, movement, incidents and hostel records.
- Ensure timely resolution of maintenance and facility-related issues.
- Handle crisis situations calmly and effectively with strong administrative control.
- Drive continuous improvement in student experience and residential services.
Preferred Profile
- 10+ years of relevant administrative / residential / hostel management experience.
- Strong preference for candidates with a Defence background – Indian Army, Navy or Air Force, especially those with experience in administration, personnel management, residential establishments or facilities.
- Candidates with strong education sector / university / residential campus experience will be preferred.
- Proven experience in managing large student/residential facilities and teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and people-management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and local/regional languages.
- Strong discipline, leadership, crisis-management and decision-making abilities.
- Should be comfortable handling both male and female residential facilities.
- Mature, approachable and capable of maintaining a balance between discipline, student welfare and service quality.
Ideal Candidate
A senior, disciplined and people-oriented administrator with strong exposure to hostel/residential operations, facilities management, student handling and team leadership, preferably from the Defence or higher-education sector.
