Job summary

Matrix Robotics in Halol, Gujarat seeks an experienced Die Maintenance Technician. You will handle preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of stamping dies, tooling, and fixtures to ensure uninterrupted production and safety.

Requirements include ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die Making and a minimum of 3+ years in die maintenance or toolmaking. Strong reading of drawings and precision measurement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die Making is required.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in die maintenance, tool repair, or toolmaking.
• Strong knowledge of stamping dies and tooling maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints.
• Proficiency in using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Indicator, and other precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Die Maintenance & Repair: disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, modify, and reassemble dies (progressive, line, transfer, stamping).
• Troubleshooting: diagnose tooling issues on-press and off-press; address burrs, dimensional variation, misfeeds, tool wear, improper forming.
• Machining & Fabrication: operate surface grinding, milling, lathe, drilling machines; manufacture and modify die components.
• Preventive Maintenance: execute PM activities for production dies and tooling; maintain records and spare-parts usage.
• Quality & Safety: ensure maintenance meets quality standards; use precision tools; follow safety procedures.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Die Maintenance Technician responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of stamping dies, tooling, and fixtures. The role will ensure uninterrupted production, consistent component quality, and safe plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Die Maintenance & Repair

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, modify, and reassemble progressive, line, transfer, and stamping dies.
• Identify damaged or worn-out die components and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
• Ensure dies are maintained in proper working condition for production.

2. Troubleshooting

• Diagnose tooling issues both on-press and off-press.
• Troubleshoot problems such as burrs, dimensional variation, misfeeds, tool wear, and improper forming.
• Take corrective actions to minimize production downtime and rejection.

3. Machining & Fabrication

• Operate toolroom machines such as:
  • Surface Grinding Machine
  • Milling Machine
  • Lathe Machine
  • Drilling Machine
  • Other conventional toolroom equipment
• Manufacture, repair, and modify die components as required.

4. Preventive Maintenance

• Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities for production dies and tooling.
• Maintain die history, maintenance records, breakdown reports, and spare-parts usage records.
• Identify potential die failures and take preventive corrective action.

5. Quality & Safety

• Ensure die maintenance activities meet required quality standards.
• Use precision measuring instruments accurately.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and maintain proper housekeeping in the toolroom and maintenance area.

Qualifications & Requirements

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die Making.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on experience in die maintenance, tool repair, or toolmaking in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of stamping dies and tooling maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints.
• Proficiency in using:
  • Vernier Caliper
  • Micrometer
  • Height Gauge
  • Dial Indicator
  • Other precision measuring instruments
• Hands‑on experience with conventional toolroom machines.
• Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a production‑oriented environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with progressive dies, transfer dies, and press tools.
• Knowledge of die setting and tryout activities.
• Understanding of die components, clearances, wear patterns, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Willingness to work in shifts as required.
