Talent Hired-the Job Store is seeking a seasoned Cost Engineering leader to drive product cost competitiveness and value engineering across critical vehicle systems. You will lead end-to-end cost management for automotive commodities, develop cost models, and push cost reduction across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 18–23 years of experience in Automotive Product Costing, Value Engineering, Cost Engineering or related fields.
• Proven ability in target costing, should-costing, benchmarking and business case development.
• Strong commercial acumen with supplier cost analysis and negotiations.

A leading automotive and mobility organization is looking for an experienced Cost Engineering leader to drive product cost competitiveness, value engineering initiatives, and strategic cost optimization across critical vehicle systems.

Role & responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end product cost management for complex automotive commodities and assemblies
• Drive target costing, should-costing, benchmarking, and value engineering initiatives
• Deliver business case commitments through proactive cost optimization programs
• Partner with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, and Supplier teams
• Develop cost models, cost databases, and digital costing frameworks
• Lead cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives across product lifecycle
• Support new technology costing and future mobility programs
• Build and mentor a high-performing team of cost engineering professionals

Preferred candidate profile:

• 18 to 23 years of experience in Automotive Product Costing, Value Engineering, Cost Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, or Commercial Engineering
• Strong exposure to powertrain, transmission, axle, castings, forgings, machining, or similar manufacturing-intensive commodities
• Proven experience in target costing, should-costing, benchmarking, and business case development
• Strong commercial acumen with supplier cost analysis and negotiations
• Experience managing large cross-functional teams
